Palin to Congress: Remember your values (and what I said last November)

(CNN) - Sarah Palin reminded Republican freshmen members of Congress Thursday of the promises they made during their 2010 campaigns and encouraged them to remain true to their fiscally conservative values as Congress debates an increase to the debt ceiling.

On her Facebook page, the former Alaska governor reprinted a letter she sent the then-newly elected members in November 2010 that called on them to tackle the deficit and entitlement programs to "avert a fiscal disaster."

"Republicans campaigned on a promise to rein in out-of-control government spending," Palin wrote in 2010. "These are promises that you must keep."

In her new post, Palin asked the representatives who received backing from the tea party movement to remember those who propelled their candidacies.

"I respectfully ask these GOP Freshman to re-read this letter and remember us 'little people' who believed in them, donated to their campaigns, spent hours tirelessly volunteering for them, and trusted them with our votes," Palin wrote. "This new wave of public servants may recall that they were sent to D.C. for such a time as this."

Palin, who is considering a bid for the White House in 2012, has said raising the debt ceiling is inevitable, but that Republicans "better get something out of it." She has also been a proponent of the "Cut, Cap, and Balance" pledge passed through the Republican-controlled House and failed in the Senate.

Sarah Who? This woman squawks like a parrot at every microphone she sees. I've noticed that she has a ton of advice for more senior politicians, but she never really seemed to do much for the people of Alaska. Speaking of which, isn't her fifteen minutes just about up? I could have sworn it was up in 2008.

So we'll add her to the list of people advocating radical ideology over fiscal responsibility. I'm an Independent, but I think it's time to bring some more Democrats back in power. Republicans are failing miserably at actually governing. Best to stick to slogans from the outside.

Sarah knows fiscal policy just as much as she knew how Paul Revere warmed the British.

Turning down a bill even before it's finished tells me that the demcorats are against compromise.

DEMOCRATS ARE BEYOND PATHETIC. Democrats are obviously wanting gridlock as Reid has already stated.

@Darrell: Anything Palin says is blasted because we dont like her, BUT a lot of the things she says is true. Case in point, the Paul Revere thing, She was called an idiot by "news" sources that should know better but in fact she was 100% CORRECT. In writings Revere wrote approx 10yrs later he did say was of the thoughts behind his famous rant was to in fact warn the British.

Where did you read this? Who wrote the book with this revelation? The best book out on Paul Revere is by David Hackett Fischer, called " Paul Revere's Ride", and Fischer makes a point of saying he is NOT a PC historian. No where in his book, or in any article, is there anything hinting at this piece of garbage. Unless you can cite the book and the author, please be quiet.

Is she also talking to the Ill. Congressman Joe Walsh who's home is in foreclosure and owes thousands in back child support? That's fiscal responsibility of the Tea Bagger Party of 2011

I have an MBA from Kellogg, and while I have a working understanding of the debt crisis and the options to get us out of it, I wouldn't claim to fully understand all aspects of it. Sarah, however, with her limited education and complete inability to consider anyone's perspective but her own, has evidently attained membership among the illuminati and urges us to follow her advice. Nice try, Sarah, but the American people have seen through your smoke and mirrors, and there's nothing else that remains.

Palin's sort of like this crazy dude who lives a few cities away from me. Every day, this guy goes down to the local train station. He has the schedule memorized, so he knows which trains are going to stop and when. Each time a train comes, this fellow gets up from his lawnchair, strikes a pose akin to a Jedi, and "uses the Force" to stop an approaching train through what I'm sure he believes is Telekinesis. Sure enough, every time he does it, the train magically stops.

Palin knows somebody will come up with something, and some conclusion or resolution will be reached. So like my Train Dude, she strikes a pose meaning nothing, just so she can say she said something, and thereby claim omniscience when whatever it is, happens. "See? They only figured it out because I told them to!"

This isn't a qualified person. This is a crazy person with a niche. I am sure the Train Dude has believers, and I am sure none of them is qualified to vote (probably because they are all five-year-olds). As with the Train Dude, anybody who believes Palin is probably similarly qualified.

Sarah Baby, you need to get over thinking you have any impact on ANYTHING and get back to getting your daughter straightemed out and taking care of your handicapped child. Most of us realized long ago that all you are doing is putting more money in your pocket. Go awat, please.

The Tea party is going to be the demise of the Republican party. Because of them they can't muster enough votes in their party to get anything passed.anybody who would listen to Sarah Palin must be a real twit. They'll be the ones responsible if our country goes into default.

Please someone shut this woman up. She is a an idiot and an embarrassment to working women everywhere. Bachman is no better. Neither one of them can tell their a** from their elbows. It is time for a counter-movement to the Tea Party. These people are destroying this country, the infrastructure is crumbling around us, the environment is doomed as these idiots plunder all the resources we have, they even are killing off wildlife. They don't care about clean air and clean water and by design will poison their own future grandkids and kill off the poor and aged citizens in this country Horrible, selfish, devisive, ignorant, bigoted, self-centered people. Really makes you proud to be an American! I never thought I could despise anyone as much as this woman and her cult followers. She is no patriot, she is dangerous and should be muzzled.

This woman is the "ring leader" of the craziness that is happening on Capital Hill! The Tea Party is the WORST NIGHTMARE that America has ever faced! Most normal Americans go about their daily lives as they have for decades. But this new "breed" of extremists is going to end up causing another Civil War and/or Revolution in this Country!! And to be quite honest and frank, "THAT IS INDEED THEIR GOAL"!!! I sure hope Americans will carefully weigh their choices for elections in 2012!! The MORE Tea Party Politicians that are elected to the House and/or Senate, the MORE REAL TROUBLE this Country is going to face!! They have NO desire to compromise. They DO NOT HAVE THE BEST INTERESTS OF THEIR CONSTITUENTS OR ANY AMERICAN in their psychology! Their minds view is to "TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK"!! And as you can see, Sarah Palin is "encouraging them" to continue on their merry way!!
