Palin to Congress: Remember your values (and what I said last November)

(CNN) – Sarah Palin reminded Republican freshmen members of Congress Thursday of the promises they made during their 2010 campaigns and encouraged them to remain true to their fiscally conservative values as Congress debates an increase to the debt ceiling.

On her Facebook page, the former Alaska governor reprinted a letter she sent the then-newly elected members in November 2010 that called on them to tackle the deficit and entitlement programs to "avert a fiscal disaster."

"Republicans campaigned on a promise to rein in out-of-control government spending," Palin wrote in 2010. "These are promises that you must keep."

In her new post, Palin asked the representatives who received backing from the tea party movement to remember those who propelled their candidacies.

"I respectfully ask these GOP Freshman to re-read this letter and remember us 'little people' who believed in them, donated to their campaigns, spent hours tirelessly volunteering for them, and trusted them with our votes," Palin wrote. "This new wave of public servants may recall that they were sent to D.C. for such a time as this."

Palin, who is considering a bid for the White House in 2012, has said raising the debt ceiling is inevitable, but that Republicans "better get something out of it." She has also been a proponent of the "Cut, Cap, and Balance" pledge passed through the Republican-controlled House and failed in the Senate.

Still can't quit hiding behind Facebook – and her staff writes her letters. She is not qualified to "take anybody to task."

Why does anyone care what she says? Who is she except a mouth? Not an elected official- (actually a quitter) No financial background, no actual understanding of economics (have you listened to her?) and never able to offer anything constructive because she doesn't understand how this country works.

Yes, remember the little people as you pull the pin on your suicide vest and destroy their livelyhood. It's OK, because Sarah is safe in her cave counting her millions.

I have always wondered about Palin's values. If I were an employer and she just up and quit an important job, would I be stupid enough to hire her back. If she ran for president would the American people vote for a quitter? She is the biggest game player of them all (politicians). Isn't signing pledges very anti Bible/God?

These comments come from a women that a small town in debt and could not even complete one full term as governor. She tells republicans to not forget us the small people. We should take Sarah and the pathetic Tea Party and drop them off into the arms of the Taliban. If the media is listing! Just ignore this piece of garage and she will crawl back underneath her rock with her white trash family.

Yes, as part of someone's resume, it can be made known that someone was a former governor either by his term being up, was defeated at an election, decides not to run for another term, or even injured but to keep giving the same accolade as "former governor" to Mrs. Palin does not hold water. She quit her post, didn't complete her term. Regardless that she wanted to spend more time with her family, fight grizzly bears, or any other rationale, she simply ran away from her Constitutional Oath.

Who really cares what she has to say anymore?? I wish the news organizations would stop giving her the space. She is an embarrassment every time she opens her mouth and she has nothing constructive to add. I don't bother to read the articles where her name is in the headline anymore, because really, after you've read one, you've just about read all she has to say. Please, make her go away.

The GOP freshmen should vote to default and we should take our reduced credit rating with dignity.

Clearly the "little people" she is referring to are the same Hobbits that John McCain spoke so fondly of yesterday. God bless her pointed little head..

silas, at 5:00 p.m. made a good point about seperatists. I wonder how many Tea Party members can trace their roots back to secessionist families during the time of the Confederate States of America? There might be an interesting historical link. One can understand their views on state's rights and limiting the size of government. However, the founding fathers realized a strong Federal government was needed and replaced the ineffective Articles of Confederation with the Constitution in 1787.

Well Sarah I guess nobody is listening to you because whatever you say is irelevant. Get some education in economics and geography. Recommended career path: Nature Guide in Alaska, Park Ranger or Salmon Fisher but definately not politics.

After working 40 yrs for the Dept. of Defense I feel totally more qualified to run than the moron Palin. How about CNN quote my comments in headlines? Palin needs to be put down in history as a blip, right along with McCarthism back in the 1950's. Nothing good came out of either, only blabber and smears.

"I respectfully ask these GOP Freshman to re-read this letter and remember us 'little people' who believed in them…” So says the multi-millionaire grifter, who amassed a fortune by leading the “little sheeple” to believe that she really gives a crap about them or their problems.

Ooo . . . What about her values? Numerous ethics violations as governor. Quits her job and goes for the money with lucrative books deals, and TV reality shows. She is just like Michelle Bachmann, all flash and no substance. Judge not lest ye be judged?
