Washington (CNN) - House Republicans on Friday passed Speaker John Boehner's latest proposal to raise the federal debt ceiling and cut spending, overcoming opposition from Democrats and tea party conservatives. The measure now goes to the Senate, where Democrats in the majority have promised to defeat it.

There was bipartisan support against. it. Boehner's biggest problem is that there is a segment of his caucus that do not feel they owe him anything, favors, votes or otherwise. I think the reverse is true. These freshmen feel that the Boehner owes them for his speakership through their strength in numbers.
Useless... why are they wasting their time by voting on a bill they know will not get past the Senate. Even if by some miracle it did, the President would veto it. By the way, why did 5 Democrats not vote? It's not time for a vacation and voting is their JOB. What happened to us (Americans)? We don;t srand up and protest anymore. We should all be hitting the streets in protest of this nonsense. I guess it's just too hot. Shame on us!
I can hardly wait to see the Senate shoot this turkey of a bill down! Then perhaps common sense will prevail and we'll see a bill to raise the Federal debt ceiling instead of a far right-wing corporate lackey wish list. Balanced budget amendment, indeed!

Everythng done in the house is a job-killer. Just look at the 4000 air controller workers who are without work because of this. And I'm sure they aren't through firing those bad bad teachers, police, and firemen. They are gutting this country of everything that made it great – JUST TO GIVE BILLIONS IN SUBSIDIES AND LOOPHOLES TO CORPORATIONS AND OIL COMPANIES.
Whats the matter Tea Party, are you disgruntled? Don't you like your job? Just print more money, after all it was the Republicans that took America off the Gold Standard.
As I sit, I can honestly say that in my 61 years, including a year in the sweaty jungles of Vietnam, and through 10 presidents, I have never felt sicker in my life. The Republican Party, in its current incarnation, is the most pathetic body I have ever seen. May God have Mercy on us all.
So now we know that Boehner is incapable of leading even his own party.
So what passed includes a provision that a balanced budget ammendment must be adopted to raise the debt ceiling past the next election. Anyone who recieves social security, medicare, medicaid, veteran benefits, college grants and loans, etc. should be up in arms. Should this balanced budget deal pass at this time, you sure as heck know what is going to get cut. Remember – no new revenue can be generated according to the GOP and the puppetmaster Tea Party.

These repugs scream about spending and budget, yet they don't mention the bush tax cuts that makes up 1/5 of the budget deficit each year, the 2 bush wars that is ravishing the budget which will costing us nearly 2 trillion over the next 10 years, we still got the Medicare part D which is still not payed for, and yet these repugs are blocking every effort for the president to remedy these out of control spending every year which are the main drivers of our budget deficit. These dems need to start putting out graphs to the people just like Ryan love to do as he lies to the American people, and start explaining where the budget money is really going and what is really driving up the budget, so they can be on Obama's side as he tries to remedy these situation.
I must admit, I'm shocked. I came to this website to voice my opinion for one of your shows. But after seeing not one, but two ads inviting people to join THE Official Barack Obama webside , I think I'll just go vomit!! I can't understand the love affair the media has with this man. He has no leadership abilities. Of course you ALL helped him get elected so I can see that you cannot admit that and abandon him. This bill is DOA in the Senate, but it'll still give Boehner an excuse to drink.
John Boehner all you Republican have done Is wasted two day. All you done Is wasting time we don't have. You know for day your plan wasn't going to pass the Senate. so why waste time we don't have. You Republican and Tea Party are just out to destroy America. Now you are going to have to do what you Republican should have done a long time a go and that to COMPROMISE. The next sound you hear will be this bill crashing and burning on the floor of the senate. Perhaps the republicans would like to try with a serious "Cut the Crap" compromise bill that has some chance in the senate.
The Yeller of the House has failed and has no control of his people. He talked about how hard he worked but he comes in at the last minute after many screw ups with his party and still does not have full support. He is asking for something to be on the table from the Dems knowing full well he needed to put his botched plan on the table before the dems could work with him. The Tea Party Cult has ruined his career today and still nothing is solved in the debt ceiling and still NO JOBS as promised by Republicans
