(CNN) - Rick Perry won't be on the ballot at the much watched Ames, Iowa straw poll next month, but the longtime Texas governor will be on the ballot this weekend at a gathering of conservatives in Denver, Colorado.
Perry, who is seriously considering a run for the Republican presidential nomination, will give a keynote address Friday night at the Western Conservative Summit. Two announced GOP presidential candidates, former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and former Godfather's Pizza CEO and radio talk show host Herman Cain will also deliver high profile speeches at the gathering.
The more than 900 people attending the summit are eligible to vote in the straw poll. The results will be released Sunday. All of the announced major presidential candidates will be on the ballot, along with Perry. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton, who are also flirting with White House runs, will also be on the ballot.

Is he going to run for President of the US or the breakaway Republic of Texas?
Good Lord, just what America needs, another bible thumping, no nothing republican hack from Texas. Haven't we learned our lesson? Between Poppy Bush and The Dim Son, Court Appointed Boy President, this country is on the verge of collapse. As nation, we might as well put a gun in our mouths and pull the trigger as soon as elect another unstable republican and one from Texas at that.
No more swaggering Texans in the White House. NO.

How does Perry fair outside of these conservative states? He's too much of a big-mouthed, religious ideologue to get elected in the general election.
Why? Because most folks recognize that when he threatened to secede Texas from the US, that he's an irresponsible panderer, talking treason.
Perry is like a fox in a hen house. Better watch out – he is bought and paid for and DOES NOT have the best interest of the voters. He will destroy the education system, eliminate the EPA, and destroy everything else he touches. Can't wait to see him debate -

Maybe he'll have a national prayer to fix the economy?
Perry is a fraud, 4 out of 5 Texans agree regardless of party.
Dear people in Colorado,a state I dearly love, please think twice before you vote for this man. If you liked Bush you're gonna love Perry.
