Reid and McConnell: The Senate's odd couple

Washington (CNN) - By all measures, Senate leaders Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell are worlds apart when it comes to their politics. But there's at least one thing solidifying their relationship.

"Both are institutionalists at heart," said Jim Manley, a former spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Reid, a Nevada Democrat. "They come from completely different ideologies but both have the respect from their caucus." He added that while they're not the best of friends, their bond is strong.

I can't look at McConnell without gagging. Showing deference to the Teabaggery zealots is a major turnoff. By the way, does he have a neck? I want to see it.

It turns out the whole Tea Party movement has already made a huge, positive impact on the country's financial situation. Consider that because of this public involvement the government's 2011 budget was already reduced $100 billion. This is borrowed money that we did not spend. $100 billion saved is $100 billion earned. It wasn't that tough, was it? Grandma's wheelchair didn't roll off the cliff.

At the same time, you remember Obama wanted a debt ceiling increase with no cuts. Now he's darn near taking credit for the idea to save $2 trillion in spending as part of the deal. Thank you Tea Partiers! Thank you from all of us taxpayers and the next generation of Americans who have a slightly better chance at digging out of this hole because you kept Washington's eye on costs. We need that now more than ever.

What I can't understand are the complete baffoons that continue to say "Where is the Dem's plan?" Where did these idiots grow up? I mean what country? Bills Start in the House...Its a Republican House. Next the bill that gets passed in the House goes to the Senate, if it passes there; it goes back to a mark-up committee. If all goes well, it goes to the President's desk for final approval to become law.

SO.....THE NEXT IDIOT THAT ASKS WHERE OBAMA'S PLAN IS? NEEDS A CIVICS CLASS OR SOME MEDICATION FOR AN EXTREME CASE OF STUPIDITY. GEESH

Hary Reid is such an old coot and a complete loser. I want to puke everytime he opens his whiney lying mouth. I cannot believe the people of Neveda have inflicted this scumbag on the rest of the country. We are all paying for their stupidity.
