House set to reject Reid debt plan as endgame nears

Washington (CNN) - The Republican-controlled House of Representatives is set to reject Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's plan to raise the nation's debt ceiling Saturday - partisan payback for the Democratic-controlled Senate's rejection of Speaker John Boehner's plan Friday night.

The twin votes are a likely prelude to a long weekend of furious back room negotiations between congressional leaders looking for a way to end a tense political standoff and avoid a potentially catastrophic federal default next week.

It all the Republican want to do Is waste time and that something that the American People and America are running out of. The Republican and the Tea Party are out to destroy America. They flat out refuse to Compromise. To get anything done they are going to have to Compromise.

Grow up GOP. Might as well do something constructive in your short term, you Repubs including Tea caucus are toast in the next election. Do something for the majority of the American people instead of putting party first for once. Useless lot.

Reid fillibustered his own bill. Democrats can't stop their divide and conquer great society political games ever, even at a time like this.

Say what you want about the Republicans, they are not playing games like the 'Crats.

GIve Obama another 4 years and well I don't need to elaborate on what National Socialists have done throughout history. Then again most Democrats want this harm to be inflicted upon their Republican neighbors.

  5. WTF?

The Republicans don't want a deal. What will Karl Rove's Cross Roads do with all those flake ads about the deficit? The GOP not interested in the cure about the deficit/debt problem. Only interested making gains in 2012.

if they don't impeach they will just claim that there was no crisis at all and they really didn't need to raise the ceiling. just like claiming that the stimulus didn't save wall street or the automobile industry.

Keep that circular firing squad in formation there, GOBP. After your self-inflicted wounds, we'll come in next year and put you out of your misery when we vote your sorry cultist butts out of office. If you care for the greedy and not the needy, you have no business in politics.

    Yeah,
Reid needed about 2 hours to get his people (dems and reps) together to reject Boehner's plan. How much time Boehner will need to reject this: 2 days or 2 weeks?
