Huntsman won't rule out impeachment

Dover, New Hampshire (CNN) - Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman again left open the idea that Congress could impeach the president for involving the US in the Libyan conflict without congressional approval.

"Congress should do whatever Congress chooses to do," he said in response to a reporter's question about whether Congress should consider impeachment. "My position in Libya is pretty simple. We shouldn't be there."

His remarks to the press came after an operative from American Bridge, a Democratic research and tracking firm that follows Republican candidates, posted footage of Huntsman making similar comments to a voter at a New Hampshire house party earlier in the week.

The Democratic group went on the attack, saying it plans to paint Huntsman as a candidate desperately seeking approval from reticent conservatives.

Huntsman was appointed by Obama to serve as ambassador to China in 2009. Since entering the race he has sought to distance himself from the administration as a potential rival for the president in 2012.

I guess the mud slinging has already started. In never ends in poliitics; sometimes I feel so ashame of our country the way our politicans act. I sincerely hope the world doesn't think that all of us are that way! So how do we define the word: "Politican"?

This is one of the negative aspects of the modern media /internet. A watchdog group overhears a comment, made by a nut case Repub candidate to one person at a Republican gathering, alerts the media, who than makes this "news worthy" at a press conference. This spreads like wildfire and off we go .................

Impeachment's a good idea but he's got the wrong president. It was Bush and his trainer Cheney who should have been impeached and should be tried for war crimes.

There is no Constitutional definition for war. This leaves only the literal mention of war being required by a Congressional declaration to serve as the Constitutional definition. Ergo, if Congress has not declared war, then there is no war to be recognized. Just a military action. The Constitutionality of the War Powers Resolution has never been settled. Reagan initiated military action against Libya and Grenada. Yet he was never impeached for not obtaining a Congressional declaration or approval. So what exactly is the difference with Obama?

That won't work. You'll have a full scale riot on your hands... If you can't get elected, don't run. But don't mess with President Obama. Thank you.

What an horses backside this guy is!

Where was the impeachment talk by the Hezabollah Wing of the Repubs when DWI Bush invaded a nation, killed 1 million of it's population, displaced 5 million of the population from their homeland & laid waste to their entire infrastructure because "Sadaam tried ta kill mah Pah!".

Hey Mr. Hunt! Go home & change your special underwear, me thinks it's full of it.

As the only one from the retarded party that I thought had a brain he has lost my interest. He is more fixated on bringing Obama down than lifting Americans up.

What was his opinion when the previous President lied to get us into a war with a paper tiger called Iraq? Was Huntsman calling for George Bush's impeachment? I thought not. Partisan buffoonery at its finest.

Yea, like Libya is a big problem. How 'bout we impeach Bush and Cheney in absentia for lying us into the war in Iraq in which well over four thousand service members have died so far? This is the underbelly of the GOP strategy; if the President actually tries to be forceful and lead, he is pummeled for not involving Congress, but if he involves Congress, they make it impossible to actually accomplish anything.

I bet it never occurred to him to impeach Bush. Just what we need, another republican joke of a candidate. Mr Huntsman, do you have any ideas on job creation or have you ruled that out as not being partisan enough?

Is there a single republican running who is more serious about fixing this country's problems than creating new 'noise'?

He just keeps marching along with his hard left plans, spend spend spend but we ain't go no money for them but he don't care!!!!

Republicans need to break from their childish approach when it comes to the President;he is the captain of the ship but if they play nice, they may be given a chance to steer again.

Here we go again. Like McCain, Rudy G and Romney–a seemingly rational republican morphs into Super-Conservative Man in order to get some love from the Right. It worked for McCain but by then he had gone too far to actually get elected by the rest of the nation.

Enough!!! You Reps have done more than enough to go after this President. Does it matter that the country is headed over the edge to achieve your purpose. We still have 15 months until the election. What will be left of the middle class and the poor by then. It is frightening. The thought that we can waste another 6 months like we just did on a manufacturing issue such as impeachment is unreal. When is a single Republican candidate going to speak up against what is going on. Is winning so much more important than saving this country. What your party is doing with the FAA just to break the union is inexcusable!! Be a man get a backbone!!!!!!!

Wow, the Republicans still haven't got over the impeachment of a true crook and his whole staff non other then Richard M. Nixon. They have spent Millions of tax payer dollars trying to impeach every democratic president since then. They just can't erase the true hypocrit lable.
