Palin's 'domestic terrorist' punch to Obama

(CNN) - Sarah Palin responded to unsubstantiated accusations that Joe Biden called the tea party "terrorists" over their role in the debt ceiling negotiation, saying President Obama should look into his own past with Bill Ayers if he wants to see "domestic terrorists."

"He didn't have a problem palling around with Bill Ayers back in the day when he kicked off his political career in Bill Ayers' apartment," the former Alaska governor said Tuesday night on Fox News. "You know, shaking hands with Chavez and saying he doesn't need any preconditions with dictators … wanting to read U.S. Miranda rights to alleged, suspected foreign terrorists."

If she and Fox host Sean Hannity were "real domestic terrorists," Palin said "heck, shoot, President Obama would be wanting to pal around with us, wouldn't he?"

Multiple Democratic sources said Democratic members of Congress vented to the vice president about tea party lawmakers who "negotiate like terrorists." As they spoke, Biden said "well now we've taken away their weapons of mass destruction," meaning the Republicans could not use the debt ceiling as leverage with Democrats in the future.

Biden's press secretary, Kendra Barkoff said the word "terrorists," "was used by several members of Congress. The Vice President does not believe it's an appropriate term in political discourse."

Obama's association with Ayers, the '60s communist radical, raised brows during the 2008 presidential campaign. Although, the two knew each other in Chicago, Ayers denied a close relationship with the president.

Palin said if the president were serious about improving the rhetoric in the U.S., as he called for in his speech following the Tucson shooting, he would tell the vice president to "tone it down a little bit."

"That is typical of our president, where it's, blah blah blah, you know it's all talk and no real action," Palin said.

The former 2008 vice presidential candidate, who is publicly considering a run for the White House, said she is "getting closer" to a decision. And she criticized 2012 GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney, who she said did not take a stand early enough in the debt ceiling debate.

"I do not have respect for what he has done in this debate," Palin said. "He waited until it was a done deal … and then he came out and made a statement that he didn't like the deal after all."

Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, kept his distance from the debate ahead of the agreement between Congress and the White House. After a deal was reached he issued a statement in which he said the president's leadership "pushed the economy to the brink at the eleventh hour."

"You know, you can't defer an issue and assume that the problem is going to be avoided," Palin said.

When asked if any presidential candidates met her test, Palin cited Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota.

"She spoke out and she cast her vote according to her principles. She stood true," Palin said. "Long time to go still, with debate, with discussion on who the right candidate will be, I'm not prejudging the field at this point."

Its really a sad commentary on the state of our nation that the media continues to report every ridiculous word spewed from the mouth of this idiot. And the media does it because the general public continues to be enthralled by this dumb broad – who apparently can still only put forth the few talking points that McCain's campaign team was able to force her to memorize three years ago.

"You know, shaking hands with Chavez,,,"

    Grow up, Sarah.

A President meeting a foreign head of state at an international gathering - what's he supposed to do, spit in Chavez' face ?

Nixon and Kissinger toasted Mao Zedong, the world's greatest mass murderer, in Beijing. I bet you've never said one unkind word about that.

Palin has become like one of those annoying jerks who jump out of the stands at a ball game and run on the field for attention. The networks have figured out that if you don't train the cameras on them while they're being chased and dragged away by stadium security, you reduce the incentive for such behavior in the future.

Time to see if the same strategy will work with Mama Grizzly.

Do you suppose Palin doesn't realize that due to her reputation she probably HELPED Romney and HURT Bachmann? I doubt she would tolerate anyone in her inner circle that didn't constantly feed her ego with flattery, so she probably thinks that her endorsement will be the key to winning the White House (if she doesn't run that it). My bet is she doesn't know a solid majority of Americans don't like her, and I wouldn't be surprised if a majority of Americans (or very close to it) think she's a full on Idiot.
That would make a great poll question: Do you think Sarah Palin is an Intellectual Heavyweight or a Drooling Idiot? Looking at you Harris Polling.

"In the last few days I have seen or read Republicans or Tea Party members called terrorists, extortionists, jihadists, hostage takers, and kidnappers.
It is those without a valid position in an argument that resort to name calling.
Tea Party reps went to Washington with a clear message from their constituents, They are doing the work that the people who elected them asked them to do. Would you want your representative to go to Washiington with a different message than the one you asked them to convey?"

Whoever said the Tea Party are terrorists is correct. As for your comment about not having a valid position and resorting to name calling – well you just described Palin very welkl. Glad you noticed. She has no brain, no valid position, no real points to argue so she resorts to calling the president names. Thanks for noticing this.

All that and not one word about why they are not domestic terrorists. If you put a gun to America's head and say "do what I say or I will shoot," I think you can justifiably call it domestic terrorism. It's just too bad we can't arrest them and put them in Guantanamo.

@lj – amazing how you baggers and neo-cons resorted to calling Obama a socialist, a maxist, a communist and lord knows what else, yet you are having a fit about being called terrorists. Where was your outrage when McCript ... oops I mean McCain called the baggers hobbits? My mom always said if you can't take it, then don't dish it out.

    Dear Sarah:

What are "U.S. Miranda rights"? Wait, before you answer however Fox News tells you to answer, let me explain. We have these things called American values. You talk about them, so I'm sure you're familiar. We also have this thing called the Constitution. You talk about that too, although I'm not so sure how familiar you are with it. Regardless, Miranda rights are constitutional limitations on what we, as Americans, can do. If, by labeling them "U.S. Miranda rights", you are pointing out that other countries don't have Miranda rights, fine. But, if, by labeling them "U.S. Miranda rights", you are saying they only apply when dealing with Americans, you couldn't be further from the truth. Why? Because the American values you espouse so much apply to how we do things, how we treat people, and how we live our lives. It's how we do things no matter who we are dealing with. It's how we treat people, no matter who they are or where they are from. It's how we live our lives always, not just when it's convenient.

Now, if you could please shut up, go back to your house, and look at Russia for the rest of your life, the rest of us would appreciate it. Thank you.

Palin is like a cartoon character. She appeals to Grumpy White Old People who want to hear her "poor right wingers getting pushed around by liberals and the lamstream media" bs. The only media she will appear on is Faus News where they will not challenge her or ask her any quesiton a third grader couldn't answer. With that said, I hope she runs for the GOP nomination. That would be so entertaining and ensure Obama 4 more years.

If they aren't terrorists (I think they are), they are anarchists. They have no concern about causing the collapse of the federal government for their own self serving interests. Sure, the government needs to clean up its act and public presser is important. However, they have no solution other than to gut everything, allow the US to default which would result in a terrible tax, yes tax, on the hard working American public. The rich wouldn't have to worry about higher rates on their loans or food. Terrorism isn't about physical harm. It is mostly about instilling irrational fear into someone for some reason. Bin Ladin didn't continue his physical attacks, but he cause the US to strip freedoms, spend trillions of dollars and causing the nation to go backwards mentally. The teabaggers have done the same thing.
