Palin's 'domestic terrorist' punch to Obama

(CNN) – Sarah Palin responded to unsubstantiated accusations that Joe Biden called the tea party "terrorists" over their role in the debt ceiling negotiation, saying President Obama should look into his own past with Bill Ayers if he wants to see "domestic terrorists."

"He didn't have a problem palling around with Bill Ayers back in the day when he kicked off his political career in Bill Ayers' apartment," the former Alaska governor said Tuesday night on Fox News. "You know, shaking hands with Chavez and saying he doesn't need any preconditions with dictators … wanting to read U.S. Miranda rights to alleged, suspected foreign terrorists."

If she and Fox host Sean Hannity were "real domestic terrorists," Palin said "heck, shoot, President Obama would be wanting to pal around with us, wouldn't he?"

Multiple Democratic sources said Democratic members of Congress vented to the vice president about tea party lawmakers who "negotiate like terrorists." As they spoke, Biden said "well now we've taken away their weapons of mass destruction," meaning the Republicans could not use the debt ceiling as leverage with Democrats in the future.

Biden's press secretary, Kendra Barkoff said the word "terrorists," "was used by several members of Congress. The Vice President does not believe it's an appropriate term in political discourse."

Obama's association with Ayers, the '60s communist radical, raised brows during the 2008 presidential campaign. Although, the two knew each other in Chicago, Ayers denied a close relationship with the president.

Palin said if the president were serious about improving the rhetoric in the U.S., as he called for in his speech following the Tucson shooting, he would tell the vice president to "tone it down a little bit."

"That is typical of our president, where it's, blah blah blah, you know it's all talk and no real action," Palin said.

The former 2008 vice presidential candidate, who is publicly considering a run for the White House, said she is "getting closer" to a decision. And she criticized 2012 GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney, who she said did not take a stand early enough in the debt ceiling debate.

"I do not have respect for what he has done in this debate," Palin said. "He waited until it was a done deal … and then he came out and made a statement that he didn't like the deal after all."

Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, kept his distance from the debate ahead of the agreement between Congress and the White House. After a deal was reached he issued a statement in which he said the president's leadership "pushed the economy to the brink at the eleventh hour."

"You know, you can't defer an issue and assume that the problem is going to be avoided," Palin said.

When asked if any presidential candidates met her test, Palin cited Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota.

"She spoke out and she cast her vote according to her principles. She stood true," Palin said. "Long time to go still, with debate, with discussion on who the right candidate will be, I'm not prejudging the field at this point."

– CNN Chief White House Correspondent Jessica Yellin contributed to this report.

Is Palin back out of the has-been wannabee trash pile again? Thanks CNN for putting her mug in front of my eyes one more time. Grow up and get us some real news for a change. Besides, did you notice that she attacks one part of the Obama/Biden duo and then addresses the other????? Forget who she was attacking? Can't come out of her stupidity stupor long enough to even remark to the correct person? And you give her space - free, at that? Cnn should realize your news credibility os on the limne here and Palin doesn't cut anything.

Wow. I'm surrounded by absolute morons. Tea Party members are really domestic terrorists? When did they threaten ANYONE? What evidence of racism, threats or violence, or anything has been recorded by anyone about the Tea Party? What? None? Really?

Oh, that's right ... if you're a liberal, you're allowed to lie, as long as it gets you what you want. I forgot. For your information people, the Tea Party wants spending to be curtailed and taxes to be overhauled. Period. That's something the Dems absolutely DON'T want. Why? Because that would mean not being able to buy votes with taxpayer money. Considering that nearly half of you don't pay any federal income tax at the moment, what do you care?

I am truly surrounded by morons. No wonder the country is heading into the crapper.

@seebofubar Hey all of you IDIOT DEMOCRATS......SHE'S RIGHT !!!! It's good to se that you all are afraid of her, you should be. There is more good in her than in the whole lot of you godless nimrods.
You don't really see because you are blind if you don't realize that most (probably 99.9%) comments about this imbecile are against her. Take off those rose colored glasses because they are affecting your brain. I am not afraid of her and every day it's more obvious that hard core republicans are finally coming to their senses about this retard!

  5. TEA PARTY MIKE

Obama is not a terrorist and neither is the Tea Party. Just stop the nonsense.
Both Republicans and Democrats are to blame for the debt mess our nation is in.
Bush cut taxes to stimulate the economy after the dot com bubble burst and the 911 attack crippled our economy. Good for Bush, it worked. The economy and tax revenue grew.
But also under Bush and the Republicans government and government spending grew more than the increase in tax revenue and along with that the deficits grew. Shame on Bush and the Republicans. When the Democrats took over congress government and government spending contiuned to grow and the deficits continued to grow. The Democrats did not do anything to stop the trend, shame on the Democrats. When Obama became president he doubled down on the trend and deficits under Obama grew even more. Shame on Obama. Now the Republicans have taken back the House and are doing something about the out of control spending and deficits. Good for them, about time, long over due.
The Tea Party movement should have started years ago while Bush was still President. Shame on the Tea Party for not taking action sooner.
So everyone is to blame. Progressive Democrats often say where was the Tea Party under Bush? Since they were silent under Bush they should still be silent and do nothing. If everyone who has a part in the blame that got us here is to remain silent and do nothing, who is left to do something? Right now the Republicans are doing something and have the full support of the Tea Party. This would be a whole lot easier if the Democrats would get serious about reducing the deficit also. If not for the Tea Party movement and the Republican take over of the House, Obama and the Democrats would still be growing government and spending and the deficits.

She is a blithering idiot and typifies all that is WRONG – not right – with America. If only the collective media would simply label her as irrelevant and stop reporting on anything that comes out of her mouth...she could then fade into the obscurity that she came from.

This is the best she can do at solving the world's problems. Instead of boning up on the real issues, she can only take cheap shots. She could qualify as a domestic terrorist since she plays on the fears and emotions of her "followers."

    Silly Sarah began to talk
Couldn’t make sense of what she said
    She tried to diss Obama
But her foot got stuck in her mouth once again
    She wouldn’t give up
    She babbled and blubbered
    And blubbered and babbled
Oh my, she alone understands what she is saying
Her embarassed colleagues stand by shaking their heads
Won't admit their mistake as their faces turn bright red
She kept on sputtering and winking
Till she could sputter and wink no more
It was a sight to see
    Silly Sarah most confused
    Hobbling on one foot
    Exiting the entrance door

Sarah and friends are just like an oldies radio station, they play the same old song. When it is one of her GOP cohorts or talking heads, you are not allowed to make the association. Why donesn't she address the real issue, is it because her base only hears the sound bite?

"Bush cut taxes to stimulate the economy after the dot com bubble burst and the 911 attack crippled our economy. Good for Bush, it worked. The economy and tax revenue grew."

Ummm...no they didn't. After the Bush tax cuts and other tax cuts during his tenure, tax revenue was completely eviscerated and the missing tax revenue that the Bush tax cuts still, TO THIS DAY, constitute the single largest contributing factor to the deficit and debt. CUTTING TAXES DOES NOT GROW REVENUE. IT NEVER EVER HAS.

Shut up, Sarah. A week after you accused Obama of "fear-mongering," here you are throwing around the word "terrorist" to describe people you disagree with. Again.

For the last time CNN, Palin is not running for election in 2012, but every time you say she is, people buy her books or pay for her to speak. Please, stop reporting that she is, so people spend their money on anything other then her.

Let us know when you hold an office of any kind, Mrs. Palin. As it is, you're someone who points fingers but has no solution nor do you have any sort of power to initiate any kind of alternative. Instead, you travel the country so that people can pay you to tell them what they want to hear. In that sense you're nothing but a snake-oil merchant, traveling the land pushing garbage from your wagon to an unsuspecting public. Shame on you, once again.
