Palin's 'domestic terrorist' punch to Obama

(CNN) – Sarah Palin responded to unsubstantiated accusations that Joe Biden called the tea party "terrorists" over their role in the debt ceiling negotiation, saying President Obama should look into his own past with Bill Ayers if he wants to see "domestic terrorists."

"He didn't have a problem palling around with Bill Ayers back in the day when he kicked off his political career in Bill Ayers' apartment," the former Alaska governor said Tuesday night on Fox News. "You know, shaking hands with Chavez and saying he doesn't need any preconditions with dictators … wanting to read U.S. Miranda rights to alleged, suspected foreign terrorists."

If she and Fox host Sean Hannity were "real domestic terrorists," Palin said "heck, shoot, President Obama would be wanting to pal around with us, wouldn't he?"

Multiple Democratic sources said Democratic members of Congress vented to the vice president about tea party lawmakers who "negotiate like terrorists." As they spoke, Biden said "well now we've taken away their weapons of mass destruction," meaning the Republicans could not use the debt ceiling as leverage with Democrats in the future.

Biden's press secretary, Kendra Barkoff said the word "terrorists," "was used by several members of Congress. The Vice President does not believe it's an appropriate term in political discourse."

Obama's association with Ayers, the '60s communist radical, raised brows during the 2008 presidential campaign. Although, the two knew each other in Chicago, Ayers denied a close relationship with the president.

Palin said if the president were serious about improving the rhetoric in the U.S., as he called for in his speech following the Tucson shooting, he would tell the vice president to "tone it down a little bit."

"That is typical of our president, where it's, blah blah blah, you know it's all talk and no real action," Palin said.

The former 2008 vice presidential candidate, who is publicly considering a run for the White House, said she is "getting closer" to a decision. And she criticized 2012 GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney, who she said did not take a stand early enough in the debt ceiling debate.

"I do not have respect for what he has done in this debate," Palin said. "He waited until it was a done deal … and then he came out and made a statement that he didn't like the deal after all."

Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, kept his distance from the debate ahead of the agreement between Congress and the White House. After a deal was reached he issued a statement in which he said the president's leadership "pushed the economy to the brink at the eleventh hour."

"You know, you can't defer an issue and assume that the problem is going to be avoided," Palin said.

When asked if any presidential candidates met her test, Palin cited Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota.

"She spoke out and she cast her vote according to her principles. She stood true," Palin said. "Long time to go still, with debate, with discussion on who the right candidate will be, I'm not prejudging the field at this point."

So, CNN, Biden's comment is unsubstantiated? Really? Are you sure about that?

Politico is reporting that Vice President Joe Biden recently lashed out at Tea Party conservatives for "acting like terrorists" during the recent budget battle in Congress.

Sources who were present at a closed-door, Democrat Caucus meeting on Monday said Biden was voicing his agreement with an incensed Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.), who was busy verbally unloading such gems as: "We have negotiated with terrorists" and "This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money."

Yeah...I can see how that's unsubstantiated...

The fact that she still has an audiance really makes me wonder about americas mental health. Personally it should be a crime to be that big of a moron. They say sociopaths have the ability to charm the gulible, and play on peoples emotions and manipulate if they feel there's a profit from it. Her profit will be the presidency if they allow her to talk to the simple people of this country.

Every day its a new article on this web site about Palin (usually with an unflattering pic of Palin) The article always starts with saying she is either “blasting” this or that or “raising eyebrows”… Get some new verbs C-N-N. As far as running for President: She quite her job... unelectable in my opinion.

Palin just wants to waste time and make statements that have no meaning or no purpose. Taking things out of context is easy and I say anything about anyone for one word. Further, Obama did not make that statement, Members of the House did and Sarah Palin should know the difference in these. If she does not, she has bigger problems.

This goes to show that she just talks without purpose. With her in the WH, we would have more problems and less action than is needed. The dysfunctional government will reach its peak. Can Americans afford that/ I think not.

Here's an idea: next time there is an article about Palin, ignore it. Don't comment. Palin will never be elected to office again. She is a proven functional illiterate. We all know that, so let's be done with this hateful jerk. This is my last comment ever concerning Palin. Hope everyone follows suit because THAT is what will stop the media from covering her.

But she admires Bachmann, who called the administration a "gangster government" and her fellow representatives "Un-American". And let's not forget the Death Panels, or her husband's membership in a sececcionist movement. Ms. Palin's mouth is obviously much more active than her brain, which is why we should just ignore everything she says.

Sarah Palin does not realize the parody of herself that she has become. As has been said by many, she doesn't know what she doesn't know.

@Ozzie: I agree. I'd love to see her contributor list; with the Citizens United decision, foreign entities can now contribute to PACs and candidates without having to disclose their identities or amounts.

When you think about it, what an easy way for our enemies to destroy us from within than to contribute to the likes of Palin and the teabaggers – who are so bent on tearing our country down through their irresponsible, ignorant words and actions.

For the love of dignity, please stop giving this woman this much coverage. John Edwards (former losing VP candidate) has had multiple scandals, Joe Lieberman (former losing VP candidate), and etc. get less coverage than (half) Governor Palin. She is not a serious candidate for any office. She has not done anything of note since the end of the 2008 campaign. Most importantly, she is intentionally lowering the level of discourse in our country. Please, please, please, stop feeding her megalomania.

We already know that Sarah is a lying opportunist with no character or morals, what is really frightening is the number of people who buy into her line of bs.

The Tea Party should be honest with America, they need to start referring to themselves as the Party of Truthiness.

I know facts don't matter...but participants in the meeting report that it wasn't the VP that made that remark. Once again..Palin fashions the truth to fit her agenda.

Get a real job Sarah like the rest of us are trying to do.

Another bold example of Palin's over-simplistic, poorly articulated diatribe. She is an example of the dumbing of America.

The Tea Party are terrorists bent on destroying the world economies while the rich get richer. Markets fell again yesterday. However, I will bet the Wall Street Barons shorted the market and still made money (that will not be taxed). Those gusys got off free. They should be rounded up and jailed for treason. The GOP left the FAA without funding. However, there is plenty of money for taking diapers off old ladies in the corrupt Office of Homeland Insecurity that set up airport screening as a multi billion dollar industry.

Thank you Sarah for adding some honesty, a sense of humor and common-sense to the debate. I applaud you, for weeks now having stood up and spoken out against the proposed solution to the debt ceiling (which you warned about as early as last year). If anyone payed attention to your actual statements and interviews, they would clearly see this. There is nothing wrong with lively political discourse, but some politicians who claimed Sarah was somehow responsible for the Tucson shooting, and Obama said to "tone the rhetoric down" should take a good look at themselves after they categorize other Americans as "Terrorists."

This is just what we need.... more hate radical racist talk from a Tea Party supporter like Palin who put Cross Hairs on democrats and told America to NOT RETREAT BUT RELOAD (that sounds pretty much like a TERRORIST to me)......if anything takes this country over the cliff it will be this women and the Tea Party and if you haven't figured that out by now then it is to late........

    Biased reporting:

Ayers denied a close relationship with the president.

To say this without mentioning the overwhelming evidence to the contrary is misleading, as will be apparent to anybody familiar with the facts of the Obama/Ayers issue. I believe that Obama said that, not Ayers, but even if Ayers did say it, it conflicts with Ayers said, point blank, and with backing photographic evidence, that the Obamas visited him recently (before 2007 election), regularly, and familiarly (holiday meals and family events, etc.).
