Huckabee: Trump should replace Geithner

Washington (CNN) – Amid calls by the GOP for Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner’s resignation, one Republican is offering an unorthodox choice for a potential replacement.

“Ask Donald Trump to be Treasury secretary,” Mike Huckabee said on Fox News Channel.

The former Arkansas governor elaborated: “Have Donald Trump take the job for 90 days. It’s a game changer.”

“Right now, the president needs something that is truly a game changer, and he doesn’t have that in Geithner,” Huckabee said.

Huckabee, who also hosts a weekly show on Fox, told the program’s hosts that Obama needed to make major changes in his administration to show he was serious about an economic recovery.

“He needs to go,” Huckabee said of Geithner. “President Obama needs to have him walk the plank, not necessarily because it’s going to change the White House policy, but because in politics optics in everything. And right now, the president needs to show a sense of taking command and doing things differently.”

Are you serious Huckabee? Of all the people Trump ? Credit rating will go even lower and lower if Trump is Treasury Secretary.

You know the Huckster's got a point. America is bankrupt, and know one knows bankruptcy better than ol' carp-faced Trump! How many times has he gone bankrupt? Four? Five? Huckleberry, stick with the Christian rock band and Gomer Pyle look-a-like contests my man.

Without out a doubt this is the stupidest idea I have ever heard, letting a loud moth liar that is an expert in going bankrupt to be Treasury Sec ! This is the worst Huck up yet from Huckabee and is a disgrace to even think of allowing Trump anywhere near treasury. In times like this you would think that Republicans would not make a mockery and joke out of this very serious matter.

Are you freaking kidding me? How about we keep an Economist in the position, not a brat who inherited a large amount of cash and an ego to match ( and cyclically loses everything but the hairpiece). Are there people that completely devoid of all intelligence that they would even consider such a move? Oh he's a business man, he must know how to run a government....at this point even the libertarians and austrianists should be scolding the right

Blaming the Dems for the debt crisis is like criminals blaming the police for all the crime.

Sadly, Huckabee has become a media CLOWN! Trump is a grandstanding, narcissistic, idot who spends more energy in self-promotion than he does in actually successfully running his businesses. Thank GOD he has left the heavy lifting to others in recent years while he becomes an "Apprentice" star....otherwise, just like his empire of the 80's and 90's...we NY'ers would still have to face his perennial bankruptcies.

This really shows Mike Huckabee's ignorance in politics. All we would need is a Treasury Secretary that has claimed bankruptcy twice and cheated thousands of people out of the money he owed them. This does make him however, a bonafide current day neo-con republican, the party who who would cheat their grandmother out of her last dime.

Huckabee must stick to singing canonical Christian Gospels... This is the guy who brought in Chuck Norris to comment as an expertise on economy on his show.

And now we have the answer as to why Huckabee is not running for President himself, even he knows that he is not fit to make such important decisions.

Goody!!!!then we can play "If It Don't Work We Can File Bankruptcy" Blame everybody and everything but no responsibility for the unwillingness to COMPROMISE of certain parties. Sounds like you need to start working together to actually accomplish something besides looking like damn idiots to the World.

I'll drink to that. Trump can't do any worse than what has been happening.
At least he knows how to go bankrupt and let somebody else eat the interest on
the debts. He is still standing and wonder if the U.S will be able to do that...

Yeah. Because according to Trump the best way to solve America's economic problems is to declare bankcruptcy. That's his specialty!

Well played, Huck. Trump would just declare bankruptsy and refuse to pay the debt. Great plan to give confidence to the rest of the world. In addition, Trump makes his million off of gov't programs (the ones you hate, Huck) so that would be like putting the fox in charge of the hen house. Stick to playing the guitar.

You guys take some of the stuff Huck says too seriously. Him calling for a donald trump as treasury secretary is equal with him saying he would pick Colbert as his VP if elected. Learn how to appreciate humor guys. The point is, Geithner is a horrible treasury secretary and a dead mouse would be better than him.
