During the last big depression; The (( American people did not have )) the Internet or cell phones or interstate highways.
The majority of The American people were pretty much in the dark to what really happened, when the last depression hit in the 1930’s.

Today (( American people have )) the Internet we have satellite TV and we have cell phones instant communication, the American people have the ability to travel very quickly to any place in United States.

The American people are well informed, and know who to point the finger at, and go there very quickly, are you catching my drift.

People in Washington D.C. and New York Wall Street Banks, if there is a big depression food shortage and shortage of everything, they better find a cave and bury themselves in it, and hope the American people do not get their hands on them.

In September 2008, the entire World was faced with financial oblivion. Each Leader of many Countries created a stimulus. Many of them are thriving. We are not because, the GOP either did not have the foresight to understand the gravity of the situation or, they simply did not care. If the GOP in Congress had not been hell bent on obstructing everything that the President tried to do, we do could have built up our economy. The GOP and now the Tea Party, have proved over and over again that they did not understand the severity of the situation. They only cared about the POWER. No Compromise, nothing that would benefit the Country. instead they went into overdrive with their misrepresentatons and out right lies. No President, past, present or future has the authority to spend one dime. The Constitution clearly put that responsibility on the Congress. The Congress is responsible to enact laws and to control the budget. They did not do their job. So, they should all be fired in 2012. But, please be very careful not to replace any of them with a Tea Partier. We all see where that got us.

Tim, go home, you have messed up the economy enough annd your liberal spending which is worse than a drunken sailor's spending is destroying my childrens' and grandchildrens' future, unless you think 26 trillion dollars ( ABC Evening News 8/5/11) in debt in 10 years is nothing!

Right wheres Erskine Bowles because at this point there isn't anyone that has the capacity to fix our Government spending that is acceptable for a Democrat President like Obama

  8. The Greedy Old Pigs have declared class war on US!

MAC, I can't stand Geithner, but if you want to know who to blame for your children's, and grand-children's, declining future, you better focus the vast majority of your attention on the GOBPbaggers. History has shown that the economy always does better with Dem presidents and the majority of our current deficit is their responsibility as well. Learn facts and history and you'll be much better off. Ignore them and become a member of the corrupt corporatist cult.

@fayse – I agree wholeheartedly. We were gradually coming out of an "almost" depression and as soon as January, 2011 came – when YOU KNOW WHO took over Congress – EVERYTHING got worst. It's not that difficult to see that EVERYTHING is tanking as the result of the takeover!!!

President Obama all during his campaign stated that it would take time to get us out of the mess we were in. We were making progress – slowly – but progress and the RIGHT destroyed that. The ONLY reason why there was such a STRONG effort from the RIGHT to mix DEBT REDUCTION with the DEBT CEILING debate was because they knew it would create more JOB LOSS. The debt ceiling should have been handled alone.

OBAMA/BIDEN 2012 because he is the only one I trust to COMPROMISE in order to WIN THE FUTURE!!!
