BLITZER'S BLOG: Obama's big political risk

(CNN) – Medicare is an especially touchy subject for any politician, Democrat or Republican. America's older Americans overwhelmingly love this public health care program. They have come to rely on it and, if you look at the polls, aren't all that open to major changes.

That helps to explain why President Obama took a direct swipe at the Republicans' proposals for Medicare changes when he spoke at two separate Democratic National Committee fundraising events in Washington last night.

Obama is a wimp. He hasn't been able to take on any real issue. His 'fixes' are spend more money.... or in other words, buy more votes.

Note to the uninformed, the Tea Party is a small faction within the GOP. The democrats have their factions, but don't have a name for them. Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, Barney Frank are all extremists on the left. From now on, the media should label them the Nut Party. The Nut Party has done more damage to our country than any other faction in the last 30 years.

I've worked for 30 years and I am "entitled" to those so-called "entitlements". ANY president [D] or [R] who doesn't think so – better think again.

I do not mind my contributions to our seniors. They built this great country....What is congress going to leave for our children? The total ignorance of this group is astounding. I will work very hard to make sure that 2012 get's these idiots out. I do not want to pay for the health care either.

He should be leading the conversation about jobs, not defending himself in a conversations over spending, deficits, and debt.

The irony here is that Obama doesn't even care enough about the future of Medicare to do anything to save it.
Because of his flippant attitude about national debt, America has lost it's AAA rating and because of that we can expect to see unemployment near 15% by the end of this year. Businesses are fast losing confidence. This is an ugly spiral and all he can do is ride it down and continue to play politics.

Regardless of what this man says or does, There are those and some at CNN would do anything and say anything to bring this man down. When you listen to John King and a selected group of his friends, you would think he is a closet mouth piece for the TP"s and Repubs. People are starting to see the light finally.

So what else is new??? The empty suit called Obama has NO PLAN, has NO ALTERNATIVE, yet does nothing but criticizes others who are trying to save the program. All while HE has CUT MEDICARE $500 BILLION to fund Obamacare and now has set it up for another hit in November if they can't agree to other cuts. This clown is the most deceitful POS that has ever occupied the Whitehouse.

But it is nice to see the fool is consistent in demonizing and continuing his class warfare tactics by suggesting all those "rich senior citizens" pay more for their healthcare. So just what constitutes a "rich senior citizen"? Somebody living off of their savings beyond social security? Obama and the Democrats will eventually destroy this country with these divisive tactics.

OBAMA and the Dead Horse strategy ...

The tribal wisdom of the Indians, passed on from generation to generation, says that, "When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount." However, in government, education and often in corporate America, more advanced strategies are often employed, such as:

    1. Buying a stronger whip.
    2. Changing riders.
    3. Appointing a committee to study the horse.
    4. Arranging to visit other countries to see how other cultures ride dead horses.
    5. Lowering the standards so that dead horses can be included.
    6. Reclassifying the dead horse as living-impaired.
    7. Hiring outside contractors to ride the dead horse.
    8. Harnessing several dead horses together to increase speed.
    9. Providing additional funding and/or training to increase dead horse's performance.
    10. Doing a productivity study to see if lighter riders would improve the dead horse's performance.
    11. Declaring that as the dead horse does not have to be fed, it is less costly, carries lower overhead and therefore contributes substantially more to the bottom line of the economy than do some other horses.
    12. Rewriting the expected performance requirements for all horses.
    And of course....
    13. Promoting the dead horse to a supervisory position.

Obama's own health bill, will basically eliminate Medicare. It will become privatized, and will become too expensive for seniors......so, in truth, it is Obama who is doing the most damage to seniors health care.

    ===========================================================================
Heard on the way into work today that when Medicare was started they projected the cost to be $12 BILLION a year now. Guess what? The actual cost is now $120 BILLION a year! TEN TIMES MORE and GROWING.

Everybody is dying to hear the Democrat's solution to this problem but NONE of them have ANY solutions. THESE are the people you want "leading" this country? People who fiddle while Rome burns and pretend there is no problem or the problem will take care of itself. Fact is the Democrats are content to see it all collapse, Medicare and this country, under the weight of unsustainable entitlement programs. Just like the downgrade of this country's credit rating, the coming entitlement disaster is entirely predictable.

There is no political risk... Obama cannot run on his current record. In the end what people care about is jobs and the economy and most have argued he has made both worse. Part of the problem is no President could live up to the hype Obama was given. He was hailed as the next Lincoln but due to many of the circumstances he inherited, created, and most definitely exacerbated he is now being dismissed as the second coming of Carter.
