Former Pawlenty supporters pursued by other campaigns

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) - When Tim Pawlenty quit the presidential race, his supporters in New Hampshire quietly called each other to spread the word. Then the other campaigns started calling, too.

The former Minnesota governor had built a strong staff in the first-in-the-nation primary state, and now those staffers were suddenly at loose ends in the 2012 race. For former Pawlenty staffers, another candidate is the alternative to stay in the game. And Pawlenty's competitors didn't want to miss their chance.

BLITZER'S BLOG: Greetings from Iowa

Decorah, Iowa (CNN) – This is really rural northeast Iowa. And I love it.

What a pleasure to get out of Washington for a few days. I can identify with President Obama and the Republican presidential candidates who are all working the crowds here in the Midwest. The people are very friendly and seem so happy to see us; the weather is fabulous; and the corn fields are majestic.

Romney touts business experience; says most of his rivals don't have it

Litchfield, New Hampshire (CNN) - Mitt Romney said Monday his experience in business would help propel him over his opponents for the GOP presidential nomination, including the man who threatens to be his biggest rival, Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Facing reporters' questions, the former Massachusetts governor and private businessman took a dig at Perry, who drove media coverage this weekend with his splashy entrance into the presidential race, and most of the rest of the field of Republican White House hopefuls.
