Bill Clinton on Perry: He's a 'good-looking rascal'

(CNN) – Former President Bill Clinton was paying attention Saturday when Texas Gov. Rick Perry formally launched his presidential campaign

"I got tickled. I watched Governor Perry announce…for president," Clinton said Monday. "He's a good-looking rascal."

Clinton's comments, recorded in a video by the New York Observer, came in a speech to the International Association of Fire Fighters in Manhattan.

The former president had some choice words for Perry's platform on the need for smaller government.

"[Perry] said 'You know, I'm going to Washington to make sure that the federal government stays as far away from you as possible-while I ride on Air Force One and that Marine One helicopter and go to Camp David and travel around the world and have a good time'," Clinton said. "I mean, this is crazy."

Perry and other Republican presidential candidates have repeatedly said the federal government needs to have a more limited role in Americans' lives.

And while Clinton said every person-"even public employees"-can think of a tax that's too high or a regulation that doesn't make sense, he implied that the U.S. government is not the source of all problems.

"There is not a single solitary successful nation on earth today that does not have both an effective government and a good economy," Clinton said. "And in the world we live in, you can't have them unless you have both."

Perry goes home every night and thumps on his Bible, then beats his chest. Just what America needs, another Texas rascal. Not.

He is good-looking - and more of a womanizer than Clinton ever dreamed of being. Perry has his "people" bring girls to his room when he isn't at home with his wife. It's common knowledge in cities in Texas. Oh how much must he have had to pay those "young ladies" the last few months to keep their mouths shut. I venture to say at least one of them will come forward in the not-too-far-future. ha ha ha ha ha

Wise words. Next time you see Mr. Perry, be sure to pass it on. And from what we've heard, he might even wear a blue dress.

The quote. as it continues , shows how scary Perry would be. If the words attributed to him are true- can you imagine that this man want to be President to actually do nothing?

Perry has been GREAT at creating minimum wage jobs in TX. On top of cheap labor he's giving incentives for businesses to relocate to TX. At this pace, TX will become the new 3rd world /armpit of the US. This guy is a FRAUD, plain and simple. He pays to the religious even though he knows it's just a show. They eat it up. No one is going to vote for this dude once his real record - other than "I created more jobs!" - on the types/pay of jobs created in TX comes to light.

Right. But here's the problem: the conservative/teatroll ideologues are living on planet Earth with the rest of us, but rather some magical land full of laissez faire unicorn farts, free market pixie dust and rouble rainbows with good-hearted corporate overlords at both ends. Talk as much sense as you want to them and if it doesn't fit into their ferevently heald, rabidly defended ideological rationalizations about the way the world and reality are supposed to work because they said so, then they just deny it and return to their substanceless daily affirmations from Faux Noise, Limbaugh and Crossroads GPS.

Right. But here's the problem: the conservative/teatroll ideologues are NOT living on planet Earth with the rest of us, but rather some magical land full of laissez faire unicorn farts, free market pixie dust and double rainbows with kindly paternal good-hearted corporate overlords at both ends. Well we certainly don't have them now do we Adulterer Bill. Go back behind a desk somewhere where you might accomplish something but I'm sure it will not be to help the economy. If your a Democrat backer of Obama then you've split your britches with one of your campaign doners. No more Clintons will I back.

Absolutely Sniffit, I could not have said it any better. And as for Fair is Fair, you are obviously not from Texas because it is common knowledge of Perry and his womanizing issue. It will come out, trust me. And before you start with your ignorant "you are just a liberal" nonsense, I was a stauch supporter of Kay Bailey Hutchinson during the last Govenor race in Texas. I hope you tea nuts find someone other than Perry or Bachmann or this will be too easy of a win for President Obama.

Rick perry is the start of the disappearance of the middle class. He will take down the government with it's entitlements and put big corporations in charge. This means America will finally ready to compete with all these third world countries for our corporation jobs, we will all make third world salaries wooey. We need to modernize our infra structures, because who want to invest in a country with crumbling infrastructure. I wouldn't pick a crumbling down restaurant over a modernized restaurant. Let's get modernized folks to draw in investors. Let's be America again.

Rascal is the key word. Perry is a Tea Party hobbit and not to be trusted. Seniors better worry about their Social Security checks and Meidcare coverage if this "rascal" gets into the White House.

Slick Rick just looks like another nasty Texas reactionary. He wants to grow Texas by shrinking the rest of America.

Speak of the devil. It's actually funny when Clinton takes FULL credit for a booming economy under his presidency. Truth and FACT to Clinton: he just happened to be president when we had the Silicon Valley explosion. Where is Silicon Valley now? Where are ALL those jobs NOW? I wish he would just fade away and take his hateful wife with him. Neither of which I will ever miss.

Rick Perry is a fraud, he is using his "Christianity" to pander to the Tea Party. Texas faces a shortfall of $24billiion dollars, The property taxes are very high, the ranking, compared to other States, for healthcare and education is very low. Gov. Perry is a puppet and it is Karl Rove that is pulling his strings. I live in Texas and not one person that I have talked to wants Perry to be President although, there are many of us who would love to see him resign from the Governorship. Anyone that is considering him should do some research on his background and most especially check out his college transcripts. When being compared to Bush, Bush is considered the smart one. Enough said.

When it comes down to the bottom line.......looks and charisma is what wins the WH.........most of the time. Clinton knows that.

    lbamaliar,

Surely you're not saying Clinton 'might' accomplish some regarding the economy are you ?

Are you refering to the guy who created abbout 23 million jobs ? The guy who had the country sitting in the catbird seatbird ( if W hadn't screwed it up ) going foward in 2000 ?

You need to read some books my friend.
