Perry likes to pig out on Federal Government money, too. Like the way he wanted so much for the Government to declare Texas a National Disaster during their brush fires a few months ago, even though the US Forest Service was already working to put out the fires. Perry cried about how the Federal Government was not taking care of Texas. That's the same Federal Government that Perry wants to make 'irrelevant' Talk about a hypocrite!

He was more of a hypocrite than that. Gov. Perry complained that he was getting no assistance from the federal government to fight the fires, when in fact the federal government was picking up 75% of the tab the entire time. The problem for Perry is that he wanted the federal government to pick up the entire tab, paid for by an agency whose budget his fellow Republicans had nearly cut in half. And don't forget, he was doing this during those horrific 3-4 days in April when the deadly tornadoes had struck.

"This is not news, CNN. Stop wasting our time with this garbage"

They need to prop him up so they can sell him to us as the next Very Serious Person that should be taken Very Seriously as a candidate for POTUS. You can expect CNN and the rest to be fighting over who is doing the best job fawning over this rednecked fool for the next several weeks until it becomes clear whether he has an actual shot at the nomination or not. Frankly, the rest of the GOP field is so pitiful and Bachman so batty, that I'm pretty sure everyone is slowly recognizing that Parry is likely to wind up the GOP candidate...so the MSM has to help him establish that he's legitimate in order to have a more "interesting" POTUS race to sensationalize when it comes down to Obama and Parry. They can't just go ahead and publish taht he was a C and D student, wants desperately to help eviscerate SS, Medicare, etc., has done nothing but create a deluge of minimum wage jobs and thereby expanded the poor, not the middle-class, in TX, and why woudl CNN or any of them bother to highlight that TX has grown a $26B budget deficit under his stewardship when it's supposed to be the black guy who is President that we're all angry at for a budget deficit? No no no...Parry must be propped up and primed, because he has nice hair and a catchy southern twang to his speech and hey...wouldn't you want to have a beer with him?

Perry used his state's stimulus money to PAY HIS BILLS AND CLOSE THE DEFICITS HE HAD RUN UP. Then says no money for job creation from stimulus. PAYING HIS BILLS AND DEFICITS DID NOT CREATE NEW JOBS. It made him look good to the people he lies to on a daily basis.

Parry is also a traitor, threatening to secede from the Union if he didn't get his way. (And a liar, too; he was getting plenty of help from the feds.)

"PERRY SAYS NO TO SECURITY CLEARANCE FOR CHINESE COMPANIES IN HIS STATE."

Could someone please file a Freedom of Information Act request to get the list of donors to Parry's campaign?

I'm guessing there are a LOT of Chinese names on it ... or a bunch of companies with names like "Acme" and "American," all fronts for Chinese and other multi-national corporations.

I sincerely believe that these GOPers are firmly in the pocket of multi-nationals that have figured out that the way to take over our country is from within, by funding the election of these yahoos who want to destroy us. The teabaggers are the voting patsies, who are easily suckered by anyone using the code words, "family values, pro-gun, anti-gay, anti-choice."

It's up to the rest of us folks who can actually think to get out and vote in 2012 and NOT LET THIS HAPPEN!

Some commenters have mentioned Texas' huge budget deficit of maybe $27 billion, but it is not all Perry's fault.

According to CNN Money " One reason for the harsh cuts is the end of federal stimulus funds for the states. Texas had included $6.4 billion in stimulus money during its most recent 2010-11 budget. The new spending plan does not replace these funds with state money. "

Texas is having a hard time without that FederaL Stimulus money.

That means that the man is irresponsible or has deceived the public. The Stimulus money was supposed to tide states over during high unemployment, not be a license to dole out tax cuts. Almost every Republican governers did exactly that, gave out tax cuts to the wealthy and corporations, and Perry is no exception.

Wait, you steal money from somebody (Texans), then you offer it in drips and drabs (stimulus) and if they take it back, they're hypocrites? So can we have a deal now that if you don't take federal money, then you don't have to pay taxes either? 'Cause I'll take that deal.
