(CNN)-Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann stepped all over Elvis Presley's blue suede shoes while stumping Tuesday, when she mistakenly wished "The King" a "Happy Birthday."
August 16 actually marks the 34th anniversary of Presley's death.
"Before we get started, let's all say 'Happy Birthday' to Elvis Presley today," Bachmann greeted event attendees at a "Join Team Bachmann" rally in Spartanburg, SC.
"We played you a little bit of Promised Land when we pulled up. You can't do better than Elvis Presley and we thought we would celebrate his birthday as we get started celebrating taking our country back to work."
But Presley's birthday is in January, so the tea party darling's well wishes are eight months too late.

So let me get this straight... her campaign gave out 6000 tickets (which she purchased at $30/ticket) during the Iowa polling and only 4800 of those who got a free ticket actually voted for her? Wow, color me impressed.

Bachmann is NOT a leader and never has been. She just is good at criticizing other people and getting NOTHING done herself. Her Congressional accomplishments are ZERO. Her lies are too numerous to count. Her extremism is off the charts. Her hypocrisy is stunning – she lives off government money in every aspect of her life but constant claims to hate our government. Is she just not plain unAmerican, intolerant, and racist and stupid? Republicans really think people are going to vote for a lunatic with not an ounce of common sense or intelligence????
I stand with my President Obama. He is genuine, a good and decent man with real family values, a great leader, calm, thinks before he acts, and knows how to relate to REAL people. He cares about ALL Americans – not just ones Republican deem acceptable – white, male, rich, and arrogant. President Obama has real ideas, solutions, and believes in our country. Republicans want to destroy America, let corporations have everything, take away all PEOPLE programs like SS, Medicare, and food for poor children, education, and technology. Republicans oppose everything President Obama tries to do – even if they were for it the week before. They are so full of hate they cannot accomplish anything. If we remove ALL Republicans on the local, state, and national levels – the obstruction to our recovery will be gone and America will take off with jobs and new innovation and success for our future.

If standing in front of a riled crowd and pitching nonsensical insults like "socialist communist Nazi" at the President to cheers from that crowd convinces people he is actually a "socialist communist Nazi," then Aug 16 is now actually Elvis' birthday.
Then-candidate Obama was pretty tired after a long day of campaigning.

It did not take long for our east coast media to fall back into the 2008 election. Protecting Pres. Obama at all cost. The major networks are all having fun over this gaffe, while ignoring VP Biden's gaffe about Gabrielle Giffords. If Palin or Bachmann had said what Biden did, it would have made news for a week. As it is,its covered up.
Oh, Please! The Giffords gaffe hardley makes up for the idiotic gaffs that Bachmann/Paline seem to make everytime they open up their big, stupid mouths. Just accept the fact that Bachmann and Palin are as dumb and ignorant as a bag of onions (sorry onions) and you just love them for it!
