(CNN)-Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann stepped all over Elvis Presley's blue suede shoes while stumping Tuesday, when she mistakenly wished "The King" a "Happy Birthday."
August 16 actually marks the 34th anniversary of Presley's death.
"Before we get started, let's all say 'Happy Birthday' to Elvis Presley today," Bachmann greeted event attendees at a "Join Team Bachmann" rally in Spartanburg, SC.
"We played you a little bit of Promised Land when we pulled up. You can't do better than Elvis Presley and we thought we would celebrate his birthday as we get started celebrating taking our country back to work."
But Presley's birthday is in January, so the tea party darling's well wishes are eight months too late.

This just go to show you just how dumb Michele Bachmann Really Is. This Is NOT the First time she say something that was wrong. The only good thing she good at Is Complain about someone else and LIE. She keep saying she could run this country better, well will all the dept she and her husband own. She can't even manage there own dept ,so how Is she going to do a better JOB running this Country. And American People don't need the Tea Party telling her what to do, Because If that happen we are all screw.

If you want to talk about things that matter, how about attacking Obama's belief in 59 states? I think elvis is a great representation of Michelle Bacmann's ideals. He was pretty, white and loud, popular with the ignorant and uneducated, and had 800 ideas but nothing original.
Last I saw the Backmann bus.. it was playing Promised Land. A Chuck Berry song written in 1964, and performed by 6 other artists before Pressley decided to take credit for it, many consider it one of Pressley's best.

I'm convinced that Bachmann and Palin received their education from the same place – the University of Ignorance! This blunder would not have happened if her campaign manager had gotten the facts straight before falling off the Bachmann mobile (bus). I'm sure we will see this relived on SNL!
