Perry: Bernanke stimulus would be 'treasonous'

(CNNMoney) - It would be "treasonous" if Chairman Ben Bernanke tried to use Federal Reserve policy to stimulate the economy before the election, Texas Governor Rick Perry said at a campaign stop in Iowa.

During an appearance in Cedar Rapids, in what appeared to be a backyard with a child's slide, Perry invoked folksy language to explain what he'd like to do to Bernanke if the chairman decides to engage in more quantitative easing.

Let's all move to Texas, a state that is last too many things that speaks highly of the state, and first in too many things that speak badly about the state.

Texas is last in people with health care. Last in high school dropout rates. Last in people making minimum wage or less. Last in a whole of stuff.

Texas is first in polluting its rivers and streams. First in the income gap between the rich and poor. First in percentage of population that is incarcerated. First in state executions. The list of firsts goes on and on.

So, why the heck are people moving to Texas? Because they do not know the truth, but will soon find out.

First of all, a man who susgests seceding from the union could also be considered treasonous, so pot meet kettle. Another thing is a US governor who disparages the President as Commander in Chief could be considered treasonous, so again, pot meet kettle. Now, as a governor, he insinuates that our President doesn't love his country. Tat just makes him a POS in my eyes. I'm sick of the hate and divisive rhetoric coming from the right. I'm sick of them getting a free pass on this stuff in the media. Instead they talk about his hair and his magic. Good Grief!

And, to take it further, why is it that when a liberal politician commits a sexual indiscretion not only do they have to resign immediately, but they become the butt end of jokes forever? Yet when a conservative does the same, they get re-elected and you hear crickets. What is this? And since this is the case, where the heck is this illusive "liberal media," to stick up for the liberals?

So - he makes it VERY clear that he thinks any any improvement to help the people of this country would be treasonous.

Whoever said he's Bush without a brain was correct.

Is he part of the group that wants to "make Obama a one-term president" by destroying our country ???

Hmm - all these years I thought secession was treason - could it be Perry wants to throw the word first so he doesn't look bad? TOO LATE.

Perry is saying it would be treasonous to help the economy ? Party First, People Last. It would be treasonous to help the middle class, that is against the Tea Party controlled Republican Party. Republicans are clueless when it comes to economics 101.

-Rudy, some of us are moving out of Texass, ever since the secessionist suggested all liberals should leave the state.

Since he and the legislative branch are raving tea baggers, and in the majority,we are afraid we will be held in camps like the Japanese were by folks like him during WWII if we do not take the advice of the fascist Fuhrer when it is "suggested"..

Lets's see....he took 17 Billion dollars of stim money to balance his state's budget ( in one case, he used it to balance it retroactively for 2007), yet he considers doing it on a national scale to be treason? Quite aside from his secession threats, the notion that Benanke would be commiting treason when he has been more than willing to take federal money( provided he could use it to cover his own mistakes) shows another example of the decades-long record of hypocrisy that Rick Perry has compiled. Perry refused some stim money because it came with strings, yet he has never had a problem forcing local governments in TX to accept money with conditions he has put on it. I have a feeling we are looking at the next Fred Thompson, someone who looks like a President, but who's actions are those of a dangerous clown. His state ranks tops in jobs creation, but the jobs being produced have been in the public sector ( 19% growth over 10 years) more than the private sector (9% growth) and the private sector jobs are largely minimum wage, putting them on par with Mississippi. He has closed a budget gap by cuts alone, virtually wiping out the gains in public sector jobs that were needed because of the population growth in TX. This idiot has no concept of long-term planning, only what will appeal to his knuckle-dragging supporters. A nation of minimum-wage earners with minimal education, crappy roads, antiquated services, but the millionaires and their offshore accounts are taken care of: is that what you want?

This man Is even Making the Republican and the Tea Party look bad, and he one of them. Rick Perry should be put In JAIL for treason ,for wanting to take Texas out of the Union. And all the Jobs he talk about he got In Texas, all minimum wage or less. This Is what the Tea Party want. So he didn't do Texas any favor , he did more harm did good. Now People of Texas have two work two Jobs just to get by.

Perry is making all kinds of innuendos that will stick with the uneducated in this country. You know, the ones that think because a "fake-religious" right-winger says it, it is true. He is dangerous - I don't want to live in a country that looks like Texas all over the place. Poverty, pollution (both water and air), and a dictator at the top of it all. NO THANKS.

Oh my goodness, were do they find these candidates? This guy is willing to destroy this country for stupid political gains! Well, not suprising seeing that Texas is one of the lowest wages, poorest, and most polluted states, just to satisfy his big corp friends. Great place to live... he will bring it to the entire US!

    -------------------------------------------------–
No. It would most certainly NOT be treasonous it would just really throw a monkey wrench into the Right -wing experiment designed to make the economy totally TANK-OUT before the 2012 elections, thereby making the Pesident's every effort to help the country null and void. You and your cohorts in crime want to make Obama a one term President. You have stated this over, and over ad nauseum. We know this. If Bernake gave the economy a boost through a stimulus that would really 'jack' things up for you and the Teatard Brigade.
Additionally, I find it ludicrous that someone who wanted his state to SECEDE from this country would have the unmitgated gall to call anyone else "treasonous".
You're dumb, dufus, douchbag Perry, and I will treat you as such until you evolve.

You cannot accuse this guy of having class or common sense. He is pure tea party and his rhetoric proves it.
The Republican Party no longer exists in America, They have "sold their soul to the company store". This
gun-totin', twang talkin', good ol' boy actin' braggart is, in reality, a boarish, crude, pompous blowhard unworthy
    of all of this attention.

BTW. Texas does have a right to seccede from the union. S we are asking the wrong question we should be asking Texas "What would it take to get Texas to leave the union?" Think about it. What would it do for the electoral vote? We woukdn't have bozos like Bush and Perry trying to be our President. They could have an official religion, more executions, an officail language, ban equal rights. In short Texas could have everything that being part of America, with it's pesky constitution has denied it. Now about that border fence...........

It appears that President Obama might have a few more "bullets" left in his arsenal perhaps anticipating the domestic Teatard Taliban's tricks and intent.
I know that no right-winger will object to my metaphoric use of the word "bullet", what with Perry lose as a canon in the house now. Right?! lol

Slick Rick knows all about treason with all that secession talk.
Slick would want some of that gubment money before tryin to get all frisky with Bernanke. Twangs and daggummitts and tryin' to be all common folksy is not what the smart people want, Slick. Slick needs some more federal dollars to help out w/that TX budget.

Well, GOPers, ya'll sure know how to pick 'em, no doubt about it. Whereas Bachmann might bring a bit of hilarity to an otherwise boring primary, Perry brings nothing. Guy gives me the creeps. Seriously. This newest egoism of Perry's grovelling from one trash talking dung heap to another trash talking dung heap won't get him any further down the road than Iowa. Might can take the body out of the filth, but in Perry's case, doubtful any washing will ever truly cover up HIS particular stench.

I am not going to repeat any of the facts stated above as we, most of us anyway, know what a weasel this guy is (sorry little weasels). I will add that if anyone should know a traitor is this phony secessionist loudmouth!!!
He might not want to be alligned with the shrub, but good luck on that one!!! I know folks from texax that don't sound as twangy as this guy. Not as bad as shrieking but annoying nevertheless!

Awesome. Overexcited pandering ideologue zealots tend to overreach and say stupid things. He thinks his election/nomination chances are safe or even enhanced making these comments and he'll find out the hard way that we're freekin sick of hearing this kind of over the top bombastic nonsense that has no connection whatsoever to reality nor honest attempts at problem solving. Keep it up Captain Goodhair...I'm lovin' it.

    "Does this President ever work?"

Riiiiight, because the myriad staff members he has aren't the ones dealing with his web site and online activities...it's him personally...and I'm sure he puts Panetta, Mullen, Boehner and Reid all on hold whenever he gets a text message. Do you people even listen to yourselves when you talk?
