Cain says Obama impeachment would be 'a great thing'

(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said it would be "great" to impeach the president, but that the Democratic controlled Senate would prevent such action.

On a conference call with bloggers Tuesday night, the former Godfather's Pizza CEO called the health care law and the Obama administration's stance over the Defense of Marriage Act impeachable offenses.

The news was first reported by POLITICO and later confirmed to CNN by the Cain campaign.

"There are a number of things where a case could be made in order to impeach him, but because Republicans do not control the United States Senate, they would never allow it to get off the ground," Cain said on the call. "The president is supposed to uphold the laws of this nation … and to tell the Department of Justice not to uphold the Defense of Marriage Act is a breach of his oath."

Cain needs to shut up and go get a pizza. How in the HELL did someone this feckless get to head up Godfathers? Or has he just done too much joy juice since those days. He's totally repulsive.

Cain should really go back to flipping Pizza. He's a disgrace and a waste of airtime. You are not America's next top President, so leave the race – NOW

Herman Cain seems like the actual 'really angry black guy', which is ironic, as that's what Repubs tried to label Obama as. He scares me, and i'm a liberal.

I am so happy to see all of the "sane" people out there who see Cain as a simple minded "racist" stupid man. I believe he is only after money and a tiny bit of publicity.

Don't you love it when conservatives blast Obama for corporations like GE not paying taxes, which they are able to do thanks to the loopholes put in place by Republicans before ever set foot in the US Senate.

This is exactly why President Obama will more than likely get reelected, the whole lot of GOP candidates are nut jobs like this one. I think he should have stuck with making a crappy pizza.

Mr. Cain does not belong in politics and nor does he belong in the 21st century. He obviously needs to be demoted to the Dark Ages. Pure foolishness!

With every new administration we get to hear the calls for impeachment. Give it a break. I don't care for Obama's policies, but so what? That doesn't mean it's appropriate to try and call for impeachment. The presidents of the past few administrations are all but indistinguishable in action so if anyone wanted to impeach one of them they should want to impeach all of them; of course, we know this is just a political ploy.

Why is anyone surprised when he says something crazy? He's a black man running for the GOP nomination. That's one definition of insanity.

It's good to see a good civil house negro running for something. I wonder if he is aware of the many African- Americans and others that truly need health care and access to the health care jobs that will be created by health care.

Another clown from the GOP. I guess if they try hard enough they can find something anything. Like Obama took a poop on Wednesday and Friday. I'm sure Cain and his ilk would find that impeachable. Where was Cain when Bush lied about WMD's, outed a spy, and tortured detainees?

I am still waiting for an idea to come up other than to simply take federal government spending and cut it by 2/3.

If OBama is impeachable then The Shrub should be hanging from the nearest pole. The Shrub should be hanging for sure but Obama is our only hope from these PeeBaggers and the far right Lunatic Fringe.

The only thing that corporate fascists live for is the power which they derive from the depth of their wallets, not the depth of their understanding. They are not inclined to engage in an honest examination of our shared values. Although Ayn Rand is their "God" they give not a moment's thought to what is meant by "rational self-interest" or its implications for truly "free capital markets". I will never eat at GodFather's Pizza again. I urge everyone to boycott such a company who gave birth to such demagoguery. Take their money away and see what is left. This is not an indictment of our entire system of "free capital markets". It is merely an attack on this one idiot. We do have many "capitalists" like Bill Gates who understand that "free" means "free", unaflicted by thuggery, unafflicted by deception and "irrationale" greed. Boycott that F...ng. Company. Do not feel sorry for their low paid employees. They are slaves to their corporate masters. I have no doubt that the corporate culture espoused by this idiot will affect that company until it closes it doors.
