Cain says Obama impeachment would be 'a great thing'

(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said it would be "great" to impeach the president, but that the Democratic controlled Senate would prevent such action.

On a conference call with bloggers Tuesday night, the former Godfather's Pizza CEO called the health care law and the Obama administration's stance over the Defense of Marriage Act impeachable offenses.

The news was first reported by POLITICO and later confirmed to CNN by the Cain campaign.

"There are a number of things where a case could be made in order to impeach him, but because Republicans do not control the United States Senate, they would never allow it to get off the ground," Cain said on the call. "The president is supposed to uphold the laws of this nation … and to tell the Department of Justice not to uphold the Defense of Marriage Act is a breach of his oath."

Seriously? Go back to Godfather's Pizza buddy, I'm sure they can put up with your crap, we don't need it. And thank god the Republicans don't control the United States, although the way most of them shoot their mouths off you would think they are, or they think they are. But I guess it's always easier to sit on the outside and criticize and blame someone who is trying to right the wrongs the Republicans commited to the country over years and years. Another politician tooting his own horn and stroking his own ego.

I think Mr. Cain has been snorting too much tomato sauce. This is from a guy who said he would demand a loyalty test for any Muslims in his administration. That is specifically prohibited in the constitution. What a nut job! The GOP must really have a dearth of candidates with all the clowns they have running.

Obama is a huge disappoint, to say the least. However the Republicans have no new ideas. Nothing to offer. Ron Paul is the only one worth listening to. Cain should quit now and hope the nominee picks him VP. If the Repubs were smart, they would pick Cain for the nomination. A black Repub vs a black Dem would be interesting.

Cain has bitten off a little to much of his pizza with extra cheese and sauce to make an insane remark about impeachment on the president. To make it simple everyone, just boycott godfathers pizza all over the country. In matter of fact, find out who owns busineses that provides services or franchise in the gop and boycott all of them. Hurt them in the pocket, i say.

    Two points:
1 the house can impeach President Obama, the Senate probably would not convict.
2 If successful would you want Joe Biden in charge?

character doesn't matter, upholding laws doesn't matter ... as long as the government gives me what I want and requires little to nothing from me.

Did Obama pay off all of these guys/girls to ensure his re-election or are they all really that stupid!?! I'm an independent, and I'm not impressed with any of them. Ron Paul seems the best of them all, but even he is iffy.

I love peoples' references to W and his "Illegal War". Every President has done something to warrant impeachment, but in most cases, the Congress is a party to the issue. Heck-Clinton WAS impeached, but he didn't leave office. Cain's point was that even if you had all the evidence in the world that Obama did something wrong, the Democrat controlled Senate would never allow the process to move. I like Cain and think he stands the best chance of leveling the playing field with Obama, but this is a non-story and shouldn't even be a headline. Slow news day when the market barely moves and this is the garbage that gets reported.

Republicans are the stupidest people – how can they be allowed to even run for office? They have NO understanding of the Constitution, no clue what our America History is, and just make up hate-mongering lies whenever it suits them. Why are there ANY PEOPLE who support the Republican Party? All they do is work AGAINST the average American – are trying to kill ALL PEOPLE Programs and still you have people who support them. Amazing how stupid Americans have become. They vote against their own best interests. Republicans HATE the PEOPLE and only work for the corporations who buy them and their loyalty.

the senate is Obama's best tool. they allow him to sit back and point his finger in the media at the republicans. most liberals aren't smart enough to realize that.

Obama should be impeached. He has basically screwed us with two things: health care and the debt crisis. He's partly to blame for us selling-out all our debt to the Chinese. We went to war to pay our debt, GWB is rich, his whole cabinet, Goldman, it's – all bs – otherwise, wouldn't our gas prices be lower? Our soldiers died for that?

Congress passed the health care act. How is that an impeachable offense? This idiot is just looking for headlines. What a stupid fool.

Trust me Herman, if there was ANYTHING that Republicans could do that wouldn't make them look stupider than your remark, President Obama would already have been impeached.

well I guess this will help put to end another right wing myth that ALL African Americans support President Obama just because he is one of them. You hear that Rush? I guess Cain then, who once called himself a "REAL BLACK MAN" breaks that trend. Now let's talk about him being an IDIOT!!
