Cain says Obama impeachment would be 'a great thing'

(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said it would be "great" to impeach the president, but that the Democratic controlled Senate would prevent such action.

On a conference call with bloggers Tuesday night, the former Godfather's Pizza CEO called the health care law and the Obama administration's stance over the Defense of Marriage Act impeachable offenses.

The news was first reported by POLITICO and later confirmed to CNN by the Cain campaign.

"There are a number of things where a case could be made in order to impeach him, but because Republicans do not control the United States Senate, they would never allow it to get off the ground," Cain said on the call. "The president is supposed to uphold the laws of this nation … and to tell the Department of Justice not to uphold the Defense of Marriage Act is a breach of his oath."

Some day Mr. Cain is going to wake up and realize...he is irrelevant.

The House of Representatives passes articles of impeachment while the Senate acts as the jury. Mr. Cain apparently has no understanding of this branch of government since the Senate has nothing to do with getting impeachment "off the ground."

Cain's serving up some rather weak tea here. Comes across more as a black man teething with a personal jealousy against our President, and very much less as a Christian concerned about defending the legal definition of marriage soley between a man and a woman. Pretty sure most of us know where Cain is headed with this impeachment baloney of his, and why. He might want to be careful of what he wishes for ... Karma can (and most often does) bite back.

Just because the President doesn't uphold the Defense of Marriage Act is not an impeachable act. Maybe Mr. Cain should go back and reread the powers of the President. The President does not have to enforce laws that he believe is unconstitutional.

Mr Cain seems to be aloof and a few bricks short of a full load...Assinine and idoic statments of this nature is good only for fodder and give the impression that he has aspirations to be nothing more than a puppet for the Republician party. What ever happen to Mr. Steel?

GOP: we want small government, we do not want the government to interfere in our lives, ... BUT, we do want you to spy into the bedrooms of people we do not like or are afraid of and waste tax payer money to uphold a law that helps no one.
Just don't take away my right to have a gun I can use to kill someone....
I guess it's easier to be a republican if you don't think too much.

    Dear Mr. Cain,
I pray that this short note greets you and yours in the best of health and spirit. I’m not sure why you would go so low to try and get votes/attention. Why do you have to be the class clown in this group of people running for the highest office in the land? You continue to make silly statements for media attention. No sir, they are not laughing with you…they are laughing at you. Please stop with the nonsense and run a campaign that I would make me proud. No, please don’t get it twisted…you will never get my vote. Yet, you will have my respect. Therefore, if you are losing traction…GET OUT with your head held high. Stop with the bull of…Impeachment, “real black man” and they would have to pass a loyal test. It has no place in this election and if you don’t change your tune…YOU WILL HAVE NO PLACE IN THIS ELECTION. Do something respectability and follow Gov. Pawlenty steps and leave with grace.

I am not a Republican, but finally one politician is telling it like it IS. I guess I also will be contributing a small amount to Mr. Cain's campaign.

We sorely need a Democrat with "bolas" to step up to the plate.
Mr. (Ms.) Democrat are you out there? There's still time!

A short journey back would show that Dubbya was the most appropriate to have been impeached. Blatant misuse of power to achieve self-interests and a total lack of common sense and intelligence in handling the most powerful position in the country, if not on the planet. "C" student nincompoop, not even qualified to run a 7-11.

The first thing I thought of when I read this was a line from Sassy Gay Friend: "Desperate! Desperate! I am really desperate!"

(Meet Herman Cain, a Republican presidential candidate. He is looking for an excuse to impeach President Obama in hopes of bettering his own chances. This fate could have been avoided if he had a Sassy Gay Friend.)

Mr. Cain I know you think that sucking up to the republicans and tea party will get you points, but at the end of the day they will deem you not good enough to be their nominee, just ask Obama and Steele and they will give you the real scoop!

First, we get Rick Perry accusing Fed Chairman, Ben Bernanke of treason, and now this? Can the GOP please find someone of sound mind to represent their party? If someone does something either of these men do not like, the accused is either treasonous or should be impeached. This really isn't funny. This is sad and scary that such men could get enough support to rise to the level of running for President of the United States.
