Perry continues Bernanke criticism

Bedford, New Hampshire (CNN) – Rick Perry chuckled but did not back down from his controversial charge that printing more U.S. dollars would be "treasonous" when he was asked about the Federal Reserve at a political breakfast Wednesday.

"I got a lecture about that yesterday," he said, causing scattered laughter in the audience at the Politics and Eggs forum in Bedford.

The Republican presidential candidate and Texas Gov. prompted outrage Monday when he said Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke would be "treasonous" if he printed more money to stimulate the economy prior to the 2012 election.

"I mean, printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history, is almost treacherous, or treasonous, in my opinion," he said.

President Obama joined other critics, including GOP 2012 hopeful Rick Santorum, in calling those comments irresponsible.

At Wednesday's event Perry added he thought the Federal Reserve should be audited.

"An agency of government like the Federal Reserve, they should open their books up, they should be transparent so that the people of the United States know what they're doing," Perry said. "Until they do that, I think there will continue to be questions about their activity and what their true goal is for the United States."

You need a lecture on how to quit lying to the rest of America on how you created so many jobs in Texas. You asked for stimulus money, which you got, yes the same stimulus money the Fed Chairman granted to all states, which created a bunch of $9.00 per hour jobs with no benefits. How about telling the rest of the United States about how you are raping the Education system and cutting their funding. Better yet, how about you tell the rest of American how you cut spending for law enforcement, fire fighters and county hospitals! How about explaining to America why you called a prayer service in Houston just to show the Tea Party that you are not a Morman. How about explaining to American how you tried to force young women to get HPV vaccinations without first finding out the long term repercusions of the vaccination. How about telling American the truth! Perry, you are a bad govenor, and a even worse person. Republican Party, if you want a real Texan in the White House, write in Kay Bailey Hutchinson or Ron Paul as your nomimee, not this clown Rick.....Parry (I still think that is funny Steven).

    Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:
“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies..
If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by
deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property – until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”

He also said The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

funny that someone who got two Cs in History of the US is now an authority on treason. and awarding no bid contracts to Halliburton during the Iraq War was legal.. of course, so was not counting all the votes in 2000.

What a stupid way to start a serious campaign...by appearing unpresidential. Saying stupid things without careful thought or conisderation before hand. Perry suffers from "Palin foot in the mouth disease".

As Bernanke and Obama continue to irresponsibly print, and devalue our currency, they continue to be the biggest treat to our economy and our country.

I think I get it now–we American are so starved for attention that any clown will do. Problem is effective government is not a big top circus. No one political system will cure the ills of a populace, however if government is in the interest of the people and not the tool of special interest –then things have a tendency to work themselves out.

Rick Perry agrees with socialist Bernie Sanders! LMFAO!

How bout this. The GOP just moves aside and actually lets the adults (Democrats and Independents) govern the country for once.

Poor Slick Rick; the biggest traitor of them all has the audacity to say someone else is unpatriotic? Isn't Perry the jerk of a governor who wanted to secede from the United States? Now he wants to become the government? All these tea baggers hate our government and want to eliminate the government while at the same time wanting to become the government? Maybe it's just me, but something is weird about wanting to become something you claim to hate. Amazing!

The truth hurts you poor bleeding heart liberals! What controversial charge, they spent trillions upon trillions of dollars, created more debt than any other administration and we now have 3 of the 4 indicator of a second Great Depression in America, unemployment over 20%, housing sales the worst showing in 13 years and retail sales down year over year since Obama took office. There needs to be an investigation, prosecution and jail time for the Obama administration, his “zars” and appointees.

I am amazed to see the similarities of Perry and George W. Bush!! Wonder if "Bushy" ever realized he had a "twin"???? Lord help the American people if Perry ever sets his foot into the White House!! If you think your life is miserable now, fast forward a few years down the road and you will really know what a mistake you made if you vote for this arrogant man!

The first of innumerable "lectures" about reality that Perry will be receiving. Probably have to carve out a slot in his daily schedule for his daily "reality" lecture. Perry has more bluster than IQ, which is a negative attribute for "Leader of the Free World". His years as Gov. of Texas have redefined political cronyism. Expect more of the same on steroids if he is elected.

But what are your plans and policies? You never seem to do much but criticize people all ready in office. Do you really have any ideas besides creating some more minimum wage jobs like you did in Texas. Maybe get in the White House so you can really lobby for federal money for Texas. Or maybe you'll be able to actually finally carry through with seceding from the United States.

I do not see how Perry can envision the path for victory. He needs to step down and let others do the campaigning. Those who know what words to use while communicating to people, and who are aware that if one is applying for the job, must be polite to those he is asking to employ him.

Governor Perry has crossed the line. Treason is an extremely important accusation and the governor knows this. It is his way to get attention – be as controversial as possible without causing harm to your campaign. The number of candidates willing to play this game is increasing.

The governor also talked about his state seceding from the union. He got press for that unusual statement. Would we call that treasonous?
