Washington (CNN) - Right after Labor Day, President Barack Obama will speak to the nation about the labor situation, a senior administration official told CNN on Wednesday.
The president plans to deliver a speech about a package of new initiatives designed to grow the economy and create jobs, then he'll spend the fall pushing Congress to pass those measures, the official said.
Call your Reps and tell them in no uncertain terms to return to Washington in September and support the Jobs agenda.
Everything has to go through Congress.....and yet NOTHING gets through Congress.
Those clowns are hurting this country. Vote the obstructors out!!!!!
Eager to hear the proposed plans for job creation...9.1% unemployment is a discouraging statistic.
Our country sucks !!!! This is all a sick joke !!! HA HA HA HA HA
A number of poltically myopic conservative comments have been applauding the President's expressed desired for payroll tax cuts. I call them myopic because they hear they words "tax cuts" and they stand up and cheer. They do not even realize that the Republican obstructionists in Congress have already said they would block it.
If few jobs are produced in my State up to end of Dec. this year, my Rep. should count out my vote come 2012!
This is coming from the administration whose proposed budget for this year was voted down 97-0 in the Senate.
Was it not President Obama who said the nearly $800 billion dollar "stimulus package" that was passed in 2009 was supposed to keep the unemployment rate under 8%?
And by the way, if he is waiting until September to address the "labor situation", that means the plan is now being formulated. Therefore, we can deduce that Obama has finally realized that there is a problem with high unemployment and until recently there was no plan to address the labor situation.
The term "clueless" is applicable here.
"President Obama to address jobs in early September speech"
Hopefully he gives them addresses here in the US...the GOP keeps finding ways to give them addresses in China, India, etc.
