BLITZER'S BLOG: Assad, al-Maliki and Ahmadinejad: What's going on?

(CNN) – President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton finally have done what so many have been urging them to do for a long time – publicly call on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to step down.

They coordinated their statement with similar statements from other allied leaders, including from Canada, France, Germany, Britain and the European Union.

    While all the GOP presidential hopefuls are quick to jump to judgement, the administration has done what grown people expect to be done. They have formed a REAL coalition of the willing and are not acting unilaterally.

    If we can get China and Russia to jump aboard, we can impose some crippling sanctions against these regimes.

    Mrs. Clinton, before advising you, all I like to say, We love you, and our best buddy, Pres. Clinton. Kindly give helping hand to Pres. Obama. What we need to do is cut Oil consumption, for this, we need to pump...pump...pump more Electric Cars, and Hybrid, Fuel-Cell vehicles on US Roads, disease cured....they know better...

    Oh, so while Ghadafi is launching Scud missiles into his own cities and Assad is firing on his from Navy gunboats, you go ahead and cripple them with sanctions. That's sure to break their will and have them become good dictators quickly, huh?

    We removed Saddam Hussein from the power who is in danger now our allies (Saudi, Israel, and Bahrain)
    Iran’s number 1 enemy was Saddam Hussein we didn’t recognize our real enemy we went removed our enemy’s enemy
    We lost Americans life and money for what?

    Now tea party or republicans won’t under stand real problem that is sad part

    President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton did the right thing. Our allies must be involved. In any highly charged situation going slow and easy makes sense.
