Rep. Wilson misses Bachmann rally

Columbia, South Carolina (CNN) - It was probably a bite from a tick that kept Republican Rep. Joe Wilson from attending a rally for presidential candidate Michele Bachmann on Thursday.

"I just put a call into Joe this morning. We were hoping he was going to be here," Bachmann said as she introduced one of Wilson's staffers at a rally in downtown Columbia.

Wilson's State Director Butch Wallace told the small crowd his boss is sorry he could not attend, but said the congressman came down with a case of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, a bacteria spread to humans through tick bites.

Wilson's communications director later released this statement.

"Congressman Wilson recently contracted an illness while working in his yard. Currently, he is taking antibiotics to treat symptoms of Lyme Disease. His condition is not contagious," Neal Patel said, adding that he is looking forward to a speedy recovery.

Wilson was an early endorser of presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty, who recently bowed out of the race after a poor standing in the Iowa Ames Straw Poll.

If it wasn't for the tick, this would have been Wilson's first appearance with another presidential candidate since Pawlenty dropped out last weekend.

Was Wilson going to throw his support behind the Minnesota congresswoman?

Not the case, according to Patel.

"Congressman Wilson is not endorsing anyone right now. He is visiting events of many Republican presidential candidates," Patel told CNN.

That is unless he gets another tick bite.

More financial ruin for the hard working American taxpayer, due to this inept, incomptent, corrupt union toady president and the only thing CNN ticker offers is more space for the drug addled liberals to spew their venom about Bachman and Wilson. Sickies.

To heck with the ticks. With any amount of luck Joe Wilson will come down with leprosy and his tongue will fall out ... kind of like his brain did in 2009

Imagine where we would be if Joe would have yelled "you lie" when we were told that Iraq bought yellow cake uranium from Niger............or had he yelled "you lie" when we were told that deregulation would be good for the country, had he yelled at those times, we as a country would be in alot better shape with alot more money and less debt (3 trillion with bailouts, Iraq and treating veterans for the remainder of their lives)..........amazing. Now if we could get him at all of the GOP candidates (except Huntsman and Paul) campaign stops because I haven't heard a truthful statement (that is backed up by facts) on this trail yet. While we are at it, he should have been present when Paul rolled out his path to prosperity......

Seems apparent that he has lied in order to skip an awkward moment.
Not that he isn't used to awkward moments (i.e. he has no class – accusing the president of lying while he was speaking to Congress). My guess is he had to attend a double super secret KKK meeting.

Wonder if he'd have called her a liar. Maybe it was a good thing he didn't show up. If he is fair and principled, he certainly would have called her one. No? He's not fair or principled? Guess he could have shown up without event, I suppose.

Would you really what his endorsement? I hope not because he is someone who breaks protocols over lies that he believes. He did something wrong and was barely admonished by the House.

Yea right he probably came down with the baukman flu. When are these repugs going to put forth their austerity jobs plan. I mean this austerity plan is killing this country. Hey you can spend money two ways, first by spending it, second by moving it away from the spenders and give it to folks that takes it out the country. Now for me I would rather spend it in our country so that the money pass through as many hands as possible before it reaches the big.boys. After that well money circulate over seas. Let's circulate money in America and give every one to atleast get a touch of that money before it gets outsourced. This is what these repugs should understand.

Joe Wilson – now that is someone I would want on my side. He could get people angry very quickly and I guess Ms. Bachmann thinks we need to listen to him.
