Inhofe to back Perry

(CNN) - Republican Sen. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma plans to endorse Gov. Rick Perry in his bid for the White House, his office confirmed to CNN Wednesday.

"I called Rick Perry a year ago and told him, 'If you're running for president, I'll be the first to endorse you,'" Inhofe said at the Tulsa Press Club, according to the Tulsa World. "I'm going to be that person on Monday."

Of the current 2012 GOP contenders, Inhofe said Perry was the strongest choice to beat President Barack Obama.

Inhofe is known as one of the Senate's most outspoken skeptics on climate change and shares his doubts with Perry, who has drawn fire for saying manmade global warming is an unproven scientific theory.

The paper reported Wednesday that Inhofe also weighed in on other White House hopefuls, saying former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is "a little mushy" on environmental issues. As for Newt Gingrich, Inhofe said he's always had a vision of the former House Speaker "sitting on the couch holding hands with Nancy Pelosi."

Besides Perry, Inhofe said there's another potential candidate who could oust Obama: Sen. John Thune of South Dakota.

"The reason I say that is he's taller than Obama is, he's better looking than Obama is, and he's the same age Obama is. He would have made a good candidate, but he's not running," Inhofe said.

While Thune was a favorite in early talks of 2012 presidential candidates, he decided against the idea in February and said he'll stay in the Senate. But in an interview in July, Thune left the door open for a vice presidential spot, saying he wouldn't rule out any options if asked to be the GOP running mate.

– CNN's Steve Brusk and Gabriella Schwarz contributed to this report.

Sen. Inhofe is numbskull just like Perry. Who came up with this creationism nonsense? I see that the imbicils didn't pay attention in science class. As for Sen. Thune looking better than the President, that sounds a little gay. When did Sen. Inhofe join the Log Cabin TEApublicans?

And there we have it. That's a perfect example of just how deeply and articulately thought out the solutions and ideas are that Inhofe has to offer. I mean, we're talking about the congress' foremost climate change denier here. He's a moron...plain and simple...and he makes OK look even stupider than SC. "Because he's taller"...yeah...that should be the answer he gets for anything he asks from now on...no matter what it is: "oh yeah...well what makes you say that climate change is real?" "Because it's taller." Frickin idiot.

No surprize here. Inhoff is the worst of the lot, even worse than Coburn.
As an Oklahoman I sincerely apologize to the rest of America and the world. We are not all as backward as these two would lead you to believe.

Imagine that-–one idiot science denier endorsing another science denier while both of their states blaze under the polluted, oil stained sky!

Who votes for these idiots? Never mind begins with a Tea and ends in a Bagger!

Sen Inhofe is as wacko as Perry. Inhofe, 30 plus year career politician, believes climate warming was a hoax. His poor record on environmental issues spreaks for itself. Inhofe and Perry are from states (TX and OK) that are at the top of states for people without health insurance, large amount of people working minumum wage no-benefit jobs and living in poverty.

"White House sources today claimed that the First Lady has spent $10million of U.S. taxpayers' money on vacations alone in the past year. Branding her 'disgusting' and 'a vacation junkie', they say the 47-year-old mother-of-two has been indulging in five-star hotels, where she splashes out on expensive massages and alcohol."

November 2012 can't get here fast enough so we can throw these two freeloaders out of office.

Since these guys are so against science, I don't think they should be allowed to receive any medical treatments. After all, science is behind all the amazing medical treatments we have. And these guys shouldn't be allowed to have any electronic/technical devices. After all, science is behind those too. I bet this guy lives in land-locked Oklahoma because he's afraid of getting too close to the ocean. If he goes too far out into the sea, he'll fall off the face of the flat earth!

  11. Repubs prey on the middle & working class

Inhofe is grotesque blend of arrogance and ignorance. He twists the Bible when it suites his purpose, but seems to care little about anyone who doesn't agree with his choice of religious interpretations.

Good Golly...one Simpleton endorsing another Simpleton that has no ideas except for destroying the Constitution. The Tea Party has no right to wave the don't tread on me flag – while their nutjobs try to radically rewrite our sacred Constitution.

Does anyone in Oklahoma have any depth at all? What do you people thinking when you vote to send these blithering idiots to Congress?

I say that Oklahoma, Texas, and South Carolina should be allowed to secede from the union. If they don't want to go on their own accord, I'd think the Constitution gives us the right to kick them out.

All these repugs that keep spewing lies that we are worst off now than when Obama took over. Close your eyes, the economy is growing about 1 percent after retracting 9 percent as he took over, is that worst or better. The Dow was 6000 points now were at 11000, would you like it better then than now? We were losing 800 thousand jobs per month, now we've just gotten 18 months of an average 1000 private job creation a month, was it better then than now? Big corporation was in the toilet and being flushed, now they are making more money more than any time in American history, was it better then than now? If you like it better when chaos and mayhem ruled, well your a sick puppy. These dems gets me sick to my stomach when the repugs spew this garbage that we are worst off when Obama takes over, and these pundits just stand their and will never check them with the facts. I sometimes think these dems are getting payed to allow the repugs to spew their rubbish while they sit back and watch.

Gee, if Perry's lucky maybe America's most loathed former VP, Darth Cheney, will endorse him as well. That's some pretty quality company Ricky's keeping.

So Inhofe wants to secede from the US too?? No earth warming, or evolution? You know in 1500's the church would have you offed for thinking the Earth was round, or if you thought other than all rotate around the Earth. These guys should run for the Pope in 1510.

I don't think you can find any candidate that, more than Perry, resembles an empty vessel making a lot noise; gets considerable attention but without any meaning or value.

yep we for sure don't need a short, ugly and old man for POTUS. Plus he forgot to mention that Perry is much LIGHTER than Obama too in complexion. But the rest of the GOP knows that for sure.

    @ Rickster...
PLEASE let us know where you got that comment from. I for one would like to read it and fact check it...something you all on the right seem to have problems doing.
