Rove levels Palin accusation

(CNN) – Karl Rove accused Sarah Palin of "thin skin" over a message from her political action committee criticizing the speculation surrounding her presidential intentions.

"It is a sign of enormous thin skin if we speculate about her, she gets upset, and I suspect if we didn't speculate about her, she'd be upset and trying to find a way to get us to speculate about her," Rove said Wednesday night of Fox News.

The statement from SarahPAC, released Monday, said the predictions are "intended to mislead the American people" and "fuel the 24 hour news cycle."

The post followed Rove's comments Sunday when he said the release of a web ad and the former Alaska governor's travel schedule are evidence she is more likely than not to jump into the race.

But Rove, a former adviser to President George W. Bush, said if Palin is unhappy with the speculation she should "simply say 'I'm not running.'"

"Instead, every time she pops up in the public eye – like she did on CNN at the Iowa State Fair a number of days ago – she said 'I haven't made a decision,'" Rove said.

The former 2008 vice presidential candidate is expected to address a tea party event in Iowa on September 3. When asked recently in Iowa if she would be ready to join the race by Labor Day, Palin said "I doubt it."

I'm so sick of conservatives saying "oh Palin is great, and Obama is this...." listen people I can say I haven't liked everything Obama has done, and I'm vocal about it... so let me ask you all this where the heck were you for the last 8 years with Bush, you need to learn something about voting your feelings, your thoughts on issues, not the candidate, and not the party. You all make the same mistake. I can't believe Obama voted back in the same financial group that didn't regulate the financial products (derivatives) I can't believe he stayed in Afganistan, and there are others, so yes I agree things could be better. So how about you conservatives get a backbone and stop defending republicans no matter what and actually vote on the issues... you are so ridiculous.

See lead the House Democrats to defeat in the 2010 election. She twisted arms and forced Blue Dog Democrats to vote for bills like the stimulus, Obamacare and Cap and Trade even though they did not want to and their voters back in their districts did not want them to and a majority of voters in America did not want them to. She twisted arms until she had just enough votes to pass the bills. And then angry voters had their chance to vote in 2010 and voted the Democrats out of office and out of power in the House. How does that rate a list of powerful women?

My take on this is that Dubya left the country in a complete lurch, forcing bankrupcies (sp?) and foreclosures left and right ... smaller tax base, higher unemployment ... two extremely ill-advised wars and a drug prescription program that had been left off the books are now being paid for ... all contributing to the deficit. Before you criticize the stimulus, talk to those that have jobs because of it like the manufacturer of fast cycle batteries for hybrid cars and so many other programs that put people back to work and provided the JOBS-JOBS-JOBS that the GOP used to win back control of the House. Well? Where oh where are the bloody jobs? All I see is the willingness to bankrupt the country on the backs of the middle class while your wealthy friends cry all the way to te bank and send their $$ overseas. Where are the jobs? Where are the solutions? The Tea Baggers were offered 4 Trillion in cuts over the next 10 years but because the solution included closing tax loopholes (which is NOT raising taxes) ... they all balked and refused to compromise. The country does not need people that insist on "My Way or the Highway" to be in positions of power. Tell Bachman, Perry, et al, to give back the millions they've received from the "Spend Spend Spend" government ... Hypocrites ...

I love every time Sarah opens her mouth. Thanks, CNN, for another pic of Sarah with her mouth open.

@NoCommentCNN – I really hope you are not stupid enough to believe people who run for POTUS actually get to keep their donated money for their own wallet!

I never thought I'd say this but I agree with Rove on this one, Palin is sitting on the fence until her PAC determines that her supporter numbers reach a certain point and then she will jump in. However I hope by now most Americans have been able to figure out that Palin is one of the most inept people to ever run for office, so the likelihood that she will reach some kind of "critical mass" amongst voters is a pipe dream at best....

She has thin skin, a pretty face, and that's about all. No grey matter, no intelligence, no finesse, no couth.

From David Chacon above: "Palin is unhappy because Rove brought attention of a most unwelcome type to her. Specifically, Palin dislike any attention that implies she will actually have to deliver results of any kind. Palin really only likes attention if it's unquestioned adoration."

Thank you, David. This is spot on and sums it up succinctly!

I'm not a huge Karl Rove fan, but I do think he hit the nail on the head here. Funny though her PAC accuses Rove of feeding the media, yet isn't that what she's constantly doing too?

Let's see – why does Palin get "trashed" so much?
    Trashed – really?
Is it because trashing is drawn to her because she's so trashy? Or just because she’s ALWAYS TALKING TRASH??? DUH!!

What this says to me is that she is either playing games or unable to make a serious decision in any reasonable time frame. Neither scenario paints her as a very promising candidate for the Whitehouse...

Sarah Palin has a very thick skin because she's still out there exposing her stupidity and her no nonsense lack of knowledge. On top of that she's exposing her own childrens lack of education and respect. SHE SHOULD JUST STAY HOME AND TAKE CARE OF HER KIDS AND GET MORE EDUCATION.

One of the characteristics of milking something for money is: you can't get directly involved in real work. It's only grifting if you get the money for doing nothing. This is the Palin strategy. She is useless to people like Rove.

Some learned commentator above, thinks Rove is trying to damage Sarah’s reputation. Just how is that done? Then there’s Mary above, who doesn’t think at all.

Thank you CNN!! I just LOVE it when my sweetheart Sarah is pinned to the top of the Ticker. It is just sooo much nicer gazing upon sweet sexy Sarah instead of Nasty Nancy Peloser or Dogface Debbie Wasserman-Schmutz. Why do such nasty people go into politics anyways?

And thanks for the relatively normal nice picture instead of the usual horrible ones you normally post.
