Bachmann makes top ten in list of Congress’ most conservative

Washington (CNN) – Just how conservative is tea party darling Rep. Michele Bachmann?

According to new rankings released Friday by Heritage Action, sister organization to the Heritage Foundation, a Washington right-wing think tank, the Minnesota congresswoman is the ninth most conservative congressional member.

Described as “a comprehensive and revealing barometer of a lawmaker’s willingness to fight for conservative policies in Congress” on the organization’s website, the Heritage Foundation’s legislative scorecard ranks members based on decisions made through “30 votes and 5 co-sponsorship scores in the House and “19 votes and 4 co-sponsorship scores in the Senate.”

The scorecard compares each congressional vote against a “preferred” vote by Heritage Action, the grassroots arm of Heritage Foundation, one of the oldest and most-recognized conservative policy centers in the nation.

South Carolina GOP Sen. Jim DeMint takes the top spot as the most conservative legislator, but Bachmann is the highest ranking 2012 GOP presidential contender with a score of 94 percent.

Texas Rep. Ron Paul scored 76 percent, followed by Michigan Rep. Thad McCotter at 68 percent.

When are they going to have a survey on who's the nuttiest. I bet she'd be #1 or at least the top five.

Both extremes of the political spectrum are just that: extreme. America is a centrist nation. A few loud mouths at each extreme can help shape the debate (though it's rare that their "contributions" are constructive), but it's the middle comes to a consensus and does the heavy lifting. It's the middle that puts reality, their country and constituents above ideology. It's the middle that makes America great.

Don't they mean one of the most idiotically rigid Teatard ideologue with NO ideas?
Isn't that what they meant? Oh wait, Heritage is a right-wing group.
    Never mind.

That is a great ranking, we need strong conservative leaders.
Obama was ranked the most liberal Senator before he ran for President. How is that working for America? Just check his approval ratings and the state of the economy and jobs. Somehow Obama convinced independent swing voters he was a centerist back in 2008. They now realize they were fooled. They won't be fooled again in 2012.

Right, conservative. So what is the difference from handing out welfare checks to poor people and handing out welfare checks to coporations? The only real conservative is Ron Paul, the rest are pretenders. You so called conservatives hate government regulation so much, why aren't you fighting to get rid of the DEA, IRS, FCC, etc, you know these big government agaencies that tells us what to think, how much we pay, what we watch. OHHHHHHHHHH I forgot, it is only bad if it does not fit your agenda. Like I said, Ron Paul is the only Republican left want to legalize all drugs and get rid of the cash vaccum called the DEA, Ron Paul is the only one left calling for a flat tax and gettign rid of the IRS and all the loop holes us people with money benefit from, only Ron Paul is the one left saying enough with censorship and dismantling the FCC. Like I said before, a bunch of hypocrites in the Republican Party

II wish that the media would stop treating woman running for office differently then they do male contenders. What I am talking about are words like darling. You don't say the hunk from Mississippi is running when talking about men but when It comes to woman, media is always using words that talk of the persons appearance. Regardless of what the rest of the story may say using such words reduces the chance that the person will be considered for the merits that they are offering.

This woman is CRACKED! How in the blazing hell does she think that she is more conservative than Ron Paul??? She has to be smoking some serious crack! This coming from the hypocrite who is basically living her plush lifestyle on %100 Gov. money. Her tax breaks, her husbands take off of Medicare/medicaid, her Congressional pay/ pension.....The list goes on and on.....But she thinks that she is more conservative. God I want to puke! She needs to either shut her hole, or put her money where here mouth is. Let's see her refuse some of this cash for a few decades, then maybe she would have some leg to stand on. Until then, she is nothing more than hypocritical upper class trailer trash as far as I'm concerned. Hey Bachmann, you want to be a conservative? Start by sending us all some checks repaying us for our tax dollars that you have stolen on your way to wealth. Don't hold your breath folks. She's nothing but a hypocrite!

Tough guy Tim Pawlenty had it right, she hasn't accomplished anything.

Regardless of whether she voted with the neo-conservative crowd or not, she has FAILED to achieve VICTORIES for her side and she certainly has not LED the charge. She is not a solutions-oriented leader – has she ever had an ORIGINAL THOUGHT in her head?

MB wants to be elected President because she got an "A" for effort on the Conservative scorecard. She gets a "D" for execution. Why Republicans are even entertaining her run to be the Chief executive is beyond me.
