
(CNN) – With ongoing fighting in Libya, Americans are worried about the future of the African country, worry that outweighs any positive emotions about recent events in the country, according to a new survey.
The CNN/ORC Poll released Tuesday showed two thirds of Americans predict Libya will now see widespread violence, similar to that in Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003. Three in ten believed that civil order will be restored in Libya.
Minneapolis, MN (CNN) - Speaking to vets at the American Legion convention in Minneapolis President Obama again touted his jobs plan set to be unveiled "next week."
"A plan to create jobs and reduce our deficit – a plan I want to see passed in Congress. We need to get this done," the president said.

(CNN) – President Barack Obama plans to speak at the Washington National Cathedral on the evening of September 11 to commemorate the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, event organizers said Tuesday.
The three-day event, entitled "A Call to Compassion," is designed to "honor the memories of those lost, heal the wounds caused by terrorism and war, and gain new hope to move forward as a nation," a news release said.

Washington (CNN) – Organizers for Saturday's tea party rally in Iowa Tuesday blamed an internal miscommunication over the event's schedule for rescinding a speaking slot Tuesday for former Republican Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell.
The group had confirmed Monday that O'Donnell would speak. She would have been prior to the keynote from Sarah Palin which had raised the specter of the two on the same stage.

(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann defended her recent comments about natural disasters in Washington, D.C. serving as messages from God, saying she was joking.
"I have a great sense of humor and I think it's important to exhibit that humor sometimes when you are talking to people as well," Bachmann said Monday at a campaign event in Miami. "Of course I was being humorous when I said that."
