Poll: Americans are worried about Libya's future

(CNN) – With ongoing fighting in Libya, Americans are worried about the future of the African country, worry that outweighs any positive emotions about recent events in the country, according to a new survey.

The CNN/ORC Poll released Tuesday showed two thirds of Americans predict Libya will now see widespread violence, similar to that in Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003. Three in ten believed that civil order will be restored in Libya.

TIME: ‘Best Governor We’ve Ever Had’: Evangelical Leader Rick Scarborough Backs Perry

(TIME) - Last weekend, Rick Perry privately met some 300 conservative evangelical leaders at long-time supporter Jim Leininger’s home near Fredricksburg, Texas. And on Monday afternoon, reported-attendee and evangelical leader Rick Scarborough told TIME he is endorsing Perry: “I was holding judgment,” says Scarborough, who in 1998 founded the group Vision America to mobilize pastors and their congregations to vote on social issues, “but the more I’ve studied and listened, the more I have liked what I have heard.”

Romney: Liberty comes from strength

(CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney used a speech to veterans Tuesday to chastise President Barack Obama's handling of the military and contrast his leadership style with that of the current commander in chief.

The former Massachusetts Gov. said the U.S. cannot be a leader on the world stage by expecting more from its enemies. American strength, he said, is the "only guarantee of liberty."

Iowa tea party group cancels O'Donnell speaking appearance

Washington (CNN) – Organizers for Saturday's tea party rally in Iowa Tuesday blamed an internal miscommunication over the event's schedule for rescinding a speaking slot Tuesday for former Republican Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell.

The group had confirmed Monday that O'Donnell would speak. She would have been prior to the keynote from Sarah Palin which had raised the specter of the two on the same stage.

Rick Perry's love/hate relationship with Social Security

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) – Rick Perry is not a fan of Social Security - or is he?

Bachmann points to 'great sense of humor' after God joke

(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann defended her recent comments about natural disasters in Washington, D.C. serving as messages from God, saying she was joking.

"I have a great sense of humor and I think it's important to exhibit that humor sometimes when you are talking to people as well," Bachmann said Monday at a campaign event in Miami. "Of course I was being humorous when I said that."
