I wonder what the GOP will do to complain or sabotage President Obama visiting the damage from Hurricane Irene. Since their Boy, Duyba Bush did such as horrible job with Hurricane Katrina, surely they arn't going to give the President get any credit. Also, Cantor and the GOP wants to make victums suffer by denying federal assistance. All so they can blame the President and get one of their worthless candidates elected in 2012.

"Obama has made it clear he plans to spend $1 BILLION to try to get reelected. Spending $1 BILLION while the American people are suffering shows how out of touch Obama is"

Would you like to explain how that accusation makes any sense when the vast vast majority of that $1B is given to him by the American people in the form of small donations? Go ahead. We'll wait right here for your explanation while you try to Google something up from Red State or Beck or Limbaugh or some other divisive partisan ideologue hack.

  4. The Greedy Old Pigs have lost their minds!

I predict that the rightwhine noise machine will kick into full gear and find as many stupid "reasons" to criticize President Obama as they can for this. It will not succeed, though it will prove their racism, since I guarantee you won't find a single example of any other president being treated so poorly merely for visiting the scene of a natural disaste (and remember, GWB EARNED his criticism over Katrina).

  5. Democrat Class Warfare - Destroying the economy, destroying the country

When an incompetent Lousiana Democrat Governor and Mayor of New Orleans fail to do their job and evacuate the coast and cities even though they were begged to do so, it is not the job of the federal government to usurp their authority and responsibility. Pictures of flooded empty school buses that should have been used to evacaute people is still vivid in my memory. Democrat governor Blanco and Democrat Mayor Nagin have the death of many people on their hands.

Contrast that to a very competent NJ Governor named Chris Christie!

the far right will call this "another photo op" when he goes probably, but if he chose NOT to go they would say he was disconnected and uncaring. Remember Joplin and the critisim he got for not being in the country when the twister hit? Of course though the hurricane and the earthquake are Obama's fault anyway.

"Of course though the hurricane and the earthquake are Obama's fault anyway."

Of course they are. Didn't you hear that God sent them becauase he finally got a chance to look through the US government's budget and was displeased that we're spending rich peoples' tax money helping the poor and elderly and sick and destitute rather than getting rid of such programs so more richies can buy bigger archs on which to place their golden toilets?

Don't let the GOPers fool you: they claim they don't believe in Darwin's "theory" of evolution and how it all works, but they're the first ones to latch onto social darwinism as a justification for regressive and societally damaging policies.

I thought the hurricane was last week? I guess Obama doesn't care about rich white people. :-)

It's pretty clear where the all of the division comes from in this country, just read all of the name calling, both sides, on this issue and pretty much all of the others that are posted for comments. We don't need the politicians to do it, Joe Average is doing it just fine.

Democrat Class Warfare – Destroying the economy, destroying the country, you are a joke. You call people competent based on the party they're affiliated. Read my lips, the Republican party isn't ANY more competent or trustworthy as the Democrats. In fact, I would argue they're even less. My case and point is the past decade (if you want me to go on I will). Do you're country a favor and get an education.

I believe this is all part of the Obama "Let No Photo Op Be Left Behind" initiative. If this dang hurricane was going to cut his golf vacation short then he might as well make the most of it.

But the worse damage is up in Vermont. Why isn't he going there? Not enough Democrats and photographers I guess.

Don't forget to mention, JohnP, how the mass media immediately propagates said dissent.
It's like responding to all of the negative comments from people like Democrat Class blah blah. Why feed into that?
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody hears it...........it's just one less noise you have to deal with.

  13. USA = Failure

Ok seriously??? Everyone needs to get it into their thick skulls that there will ALWAYS be people for or against the current and past presidents. Now what we need to do for once is at least cooperate with eachother to get this country back on track. All of this elitism, refusing to agree, propaganda, etc. has really gotten old over the last decade. Repubs: Accept that Bush failed and that your economic policies + your refusal to agree on anything is outdated. And your bashing on the Prez as well. Democrats: Accept that your Prez hasn't been doing the best job and that he should really change some things. AND ACCEPT THAT WE ARE STILL IN IRAQ! Shipping a few out does not mean its ended. Plus, his decisions have been slow and not completely economically sound. Now, before anyone says 'HYPOCRITE!' or 'OMG YOU HAZ DIFERENT IDEAL STFU YOU FAILZ!' this is Truth. Accept it and work together. Or America SHALL fail. Then we get ruled by China.

"the far right will call this "another photo op" when he goes probably"

    Then

"I believe this is all part of the Obama "Let No Photo Op Be Left Behind" initiative. "

Classic, Lost in Texas. I love when I predict what they'll say like that and it comes true like that. Predictability is the highest mark of stupidity. The GOP/Teatroll spin machine and political strategery is the most transparent thing in DC.
