This is ridiculous. Bonehead should have moved the votes. If there is nothing passed on that day I want to see the Speaker apologize to America. This speach is not about party politics....it's about the PEOPLE. The speaker and the GOP have no respect for the President. We should hold him and his croonies accountable.

Each member of Congress and Senate should be placed under recall provisions. Time to sweep out the mess (err GOP).

Stupid decision... Boehner played him like a fiddle. He wanted the president to piss off half the country by interrupting the NFL game. In addition, most people will tune him out due to the game and won't pay attention to what he even says. Just what Boehner wants so he can act like the president has not presented any real plans...

Obama need to stop allowing boner to get what he wants. This is what liberals are screaming about Obama, show some fight. Boener doesn't not run this country for crying out loud. When are you going to realize that the repugs only mission is to make you look week because the bush deregulation and tax cuts have doomed this country for the last 10 years, and any American with a brain knows this crap does not work in a global economy, because big businesses have the same obligation to china as they have to America. These repugs keep underestimating greed, and they are not thinking why these big corporation lobbyist are paying them millions of dollars. They are doing this to trim as much middle class workers as possible to make more money, and too much money will never be enough, because their is a competition going on between these rich folks, and that is to see who will be the richest and the most power person on the planet. This is a complicated society that us normal local folks couldn't understand.

The liberal in me wish he had not caved but that's why he is the president. He acts as the bigger person. Which proves to all the critics that he is by partisan and willing to compromise and willing to hear the otherside which is the complete opposite for the party of no

The GOP has been on a 5 week vacation. We still have no jobs from the Job creators. People are losing their homes. More layoffs and foreclosures are coming when they start cutting spending. The tea party feels your pain.

How many smack-downs is President Obama going to take before he comes roaring back. Get with it Mr. President,
I do NOT, I repeat, do NOT want any Republican in the White House, and I DO want all tea partiers gone in 2012.
You have to stand up to them, NOW. You have the bully pulpit, USE IT! The Republicans will never go along with
anything you offer, so if you think compromise is around the corner, think again. You are smarter than I am, so is
Sniffitt, RudyNYE, Dominican mama, etc, so will wait for their thoughts.

He can move his speech for another year and it's OK. It not make any deference. Just another kva-kva-kva.

To all those who say the Republicans are disrespecting the president by asking him to move the date for his speech, just stop. If it was so important for the good of the nation, he could've given it BEFORE he went on vacation. It was nothing but a shameful attempt to upstage a long-scheduled debate and it's a good thing the Republicans didn't cave in.

Of course he did, he always bows to the Republicans. That's why the healthcare plan uses private insurance companies. He gives in to the Republicans in a spirit of cooperation and they refuse to cooperate in the spirit of spoiled, greedy, self-centered little brats.

  19. NO BIG DEAL!!!!

The Republicans been asking in 2010 election where the jobs and now don't want to hear the plan. John Boehner is the Speaker of the House for the American people and put a "debate" over a "Jobs Plan" to help the American People. This prove the Republicans are not interested in job creation, just like the debt ceiling crap. The Republicans Tea Party are low life in high places.

So the president, once again, caves to what John Boehner and the Republicans want to do. Well, that's one way to look at it. Another way of looking at it is that it's just more piece of ammunition for the Dems in next year's election when they give 400 examples of their willingness to get things done in a bipartisan matter and compromise with the Republicans, while Republicans continued to be the party of NO when it comes to cooperation in getting anything done.

That's cool – The debate is something you DON'T want to miss. I can hardly wait for a bunch of fools to get on stage and battle with each other. What I can say about the MOVE – not everyone will tune into the debate – BUT – almost the entire country will tune into President Obama's Jobs Speech!!!

    Obama/Biden 2012!!

Dang – just heard a "brief" repeat of Jon Huntsman speech on JOBS – He sounds like President Obama; he sounds like he wants to rebuild our infrastructure that would bring jobs back to America!!!

Boehner got one over on the Dems again! The administration attempted to preempt the Republican debate by having the President speak on the same evening, then Boehner got them to agree to the next day, which also happens to be the opening day of the NFL season! Most people will know nothing about why it's being held that night, they will just be irritated at the current administration for interrupting the game! Another public relations disaster by this incompetent administration!

  24. POTUS boots another one

The guy I voted for has just decided that a revealing talk about what he plans to do about JOBS FOR AMERICANS is not as important as a FACTIONAL PARTY EVENT. Why not move it to the day before? Why not move it one hour earlier? Why move it at all? I am appalled!
