Rick Perry leads in another poll

(CNN) - Rick Perry led the pack of Republican presidential candidates among Republican and Republican leaning voters in another national survey released Wednesday.

The Quinnipiac University poll showed the Texas Gov. and newcomer to the 2012 race with 24 percent, followed by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney with 18 percent, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin with 11 percent, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann with ten percent and Texas Rep. Ron Paul with nine percent. The remaining candidates received five percent or below.

Romney, Bachmann and Paul are declared presidential candidates, while Palin is still considering a run for the White House.

When Palin was taken out of the survey field, Perry led Romney 26 percent to 20 percent, with Bachmann at 12 percent.

Perry also received the top spot in a CNN/ORC Poll released Monday with 27 percent, ahead of Romney's 14 percent and Palin's ten percent. Bachmann and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who has not decided whether to launch a bid, received nine percent.

The two polls follow other national surveys that show Perry at the top of the GOP field.

Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,185 Republican voters between Aug. 16 and Aug. 27 with a sampling error of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points.

have any of these people polled read what Perry wants to do to the Constitution if elected? Abuse of power much! Having governors appoint Senators to Washington, more low paying jobs to make him look good (although the 8.4% unemployment rate in his state is going up! It is called the dumbing down of America by republicans!

Rick Perry should be In Jail for Treason ,for wanting to take Texas and Secede from the Union. And If you talk to people that Live In Texas they are saying they wouldn't vote for this guy. He most likely won't even win his own State. I would never vote for him because I think he a Trader to America.

  7. GOP = Greed Over People

DMN has highlighted the GOP's latest great WHITE hope's Rick (Elmer Gantry) Perry's latest "accomplishments" for Texass.
    .
Seems that whole creating jobs mantra is suddenly on the skids, we went from 8.2 to 8.4 at that rate it should be equal to the national ran in 3 months.

Also, seems Parkland hospital is about to lose it's certification and access to Medicare and Medicaid due to poor sanitary conditions and infection control that could lead to deaths, IF the deficiencies are not corrected by 9/2/2011. This is not a warning, this is do not pass go, we will shut off your funds because the care is so abysmal, drawn in the sand hard deadline. Usually, only one or two major hospitals get this dire threat a year.

Did I mention that due to the high rate of uninsured in Texass, Parkland is the #2 user of those Medicare and Medicaid "entitlement" funds governor good hair SAYS he hates so much?

Add that to his cutting the education budget by 2 billion this year and you can see he is indeed the great WHITE hope charging in on his steed.

Think twice before voting er, inflicting this "false prophet" on the other 49 states.

America, you have been warned, although I hate it because it might have actually "gotten the ass out of Texass"!

Before you decide to vote for either Michele Bachmann or Rick Perry, I would strongly advise you to educate yourselves concerning the "Seven Mountain" Christian Dominionist movement and their plans for America.

This shows as clearly as possible how the republican party has deteriorated into the party of idiots. this man has no grasp on modern reality. all he is is a posturing blowhard appealing to the worst in human nature. how sad that so many of our citizens think he's presidential material. that doesn't bode well for the country even if he loses. haven't we suffered enough at the hands of another idiot from Texas???

He might be in the lead now but wait until his skeletons come out of the closet. He is the epitome of sleazy politics, under handed deals and good old boy favors. I wouldn't vote for him if he was the only person on the ballet. And yeah, I live in Texas.

Commander Perry will restore our country to a nation of faith. We can move forward and replace science with religion just as God intends. Infidels can be driven from our shores and we can once again become the dog eat dog nation that Jesus meant for us to be. Praise the Lord and the TEA PARTY...
