New York (CNNMoney) – After weeks of Republican attacks over tightening environmental regulations, President Obama said Friday he would halt a planned increase in clean air standards.
In a statement released just hours after the U.S. Labor Department said the economy created no new jobs in August, Obama said he told Environmental Protection Agency head Lisa Jackson to withdraw the draft Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards.
That is a shame. It is so wonderful to have and smell clean air!
A mistake IMHO. If the Republican Party wants to disbelieve science and literally put their faith in a cleaner environment through prayer- that is their business. For the rest of us however, clean air regulations work. They began in earnest under Richard Nixon (wonder what the current GOP/TP rate him at these days on their Conserv-O-Meter?).
Oh thank you President Backbone. Once again you show yourself to be just a complete tool of the jackboot right. Someone should remind this useless fool that being a Democrat doesn't mean being gutless. Isn't there anything he stands up for. I truly believe that if his wife and children were attacked he'd try to reason with the attacker rather than leap to their defense. God help America
WEAK. The only things burdening businesses are the lack of consumer demands brought on by 30 years of supply side economics and which off-shore bank account to keep the hundreds of billions of dollars they have been sitting on. This is a weak move that will do nothing to help with the employment issues. This race to become more like china will not lead the US to the top. but it will put us just above Rwanda and Uganda.
Good grief, why do the Republican's think they need a President – they have Obama. The man is sooo disappointing.
