Bachmann: Don't pass Obama's plan

(CNN) – Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann said she felt "deeply disappointed" by the president's jobs speech Thursday and called on Congress to avoid passing his plan.

"Clearly what we saw was just a sequel of all of the failed policies that the president has put forward in the past," Bachmann said in a post-debate speech.

While Republicans typically deliver a party response whenever the president addresses a joint session of Congress, the GOP passed on an address Thursday, giving no official reason for the move.

But Bachmann, who said she listened to the speech in the car while stuck in traffic, gave her own response in the House gallery in the Capitol Thursday.

She said she was offended by President Barack Obama's opening remarks asking Congress to "stop the political circus" and do something to help the economy.

Specifically, she blasted the president's plan to prolong unemployment benefits, calling them poor incentives for people to get jobs.

"Not only should Congress not pass this plan," Bachmann said. "I say, 'Mr. President, stop. Your last plan hasn't worked, and it's hurting the American economy'."

The GOP presidential candidate laid out her own nine-point plan, which included measures such as repealing Obama's health care reform, repealing financial regulation reform, and increasing exports.

She called the president's policies acts of "generational theft" that take money from future generations.

"The president has embraced solutions that are temporary gimmicks," Bachmann said. "They come and they go. That's what we saw tonight in the president's remarks."

I find it amazing that this woman is in the top tier of republican candidates. I guess we can use your plan right Michelle? Oh that's right you don't even have a plan. Moreover you haven't come up with ANYTHING of substance the entire time you have been in congress. Her claim to fame is a stupid light bulb act. I fell sorry for anyone who actually supports this woman.

I do believe that the plan is a step in the right direction since it includes proposals that the RIGHT agree with. I think it is a starting block but good luck trying to tax the rich. I am in favor of it but we all know it wont pass. I do agree with what Obama said when he stated that the American people cant afford to wait 14 months. I agree with Bachmann that unemployment benefits encourage people not to work. I am in California and I have witnessed 3 people I know who have taken advantage of the time off work with the unemployment benefits and I feel it gives them a reason to sit at home and collect the check for doing nothing. We need people to recognize they need to try all they can to get out and get a job. If people are not getting a job offer that is more than their benefits then why accept it?

Why is this fool always looking up in the air? WTF is she looking at? Regardless, it time for her to realize her time is up. No one cares what she has to say. That was proven in the debate last night!

Look at the logic. President Obama wants the economy to improve so he can be re-elected. He will put forth plans that he thinks will work. The Republicans do not want the economy to improve. They do not want President Obama to be re-elected so they will vote against plans that they think would work which happens to be President Obama's plans. So both sides agree that President Obama's plans will work.

Really, does it surprise anyone that she would not approve? Like most in her party, they don't even have to hear the plan before they reject it. That is the political circus the president referred too, and she was only annoyed at his saying this because he is saying that its clowns like her that need to act normal and look out for whats best for the country, not just their political party.

There have been ten (10) years of the tax cuts that originated with Bush; TEN YEARS. If cutting taxes produced jobs, we would be swimming in jobs RIGHT NOW. Since we're not, the argument has slowly evolved: now the "job creators" are not hiring because they are "unsure of where the government is heading". This "unsure of government" has not had any effect on executive salaries, bonuses, and perks however. What a load.

She had time to write a 5 page speech already and it's only been about 2 hours since the president spoke...or perhaps....nah...you don't think that maybe she wrote it BEFORE the President spoke? yeah maybe Michelle had it written last night after she failed so miserably at the debate...quick to judge Obama but not a single plan of her own except to stick to the old slogans and quick talking points....

michelle is philosophically challenged. she is speaking exactly what obama asked for. sit aside politics for a second and do something to actually help the american people. Americans should fear the tea partiers and right wing leaders, for they willl say and do whatever it takes, even at the expense of their own peoples well being, for political gain. it disgusts me.

Okay Michelle, start acting presidential and give us some inkling of intelligence on what your plan would be. Stop lambasting Obama and tell us something at least meaningful, intelligent and possibly constructive as relevant to the issue? What specifically is your long term plan for Social Security? Why don't you care about the unemployed Americans? And your think we think you're concerned about American jobs? "Generational theft"? I take it that means you won't be taking Social Security benefits when you retire, accepting your health insurance for life policy as a congress person and expect all your family and friends to do the same? Is it easier for you to lambast Obama than actually add some constructive intelligence to the topic at hand? The American People are not as dumb as you wish they were.

Here's a thought - how about this time you just do what Obama said? Every Republican rails against Obama's policies, but we haven't had a chance to try out OBAMA's policies - we've always had this weird mish-mash of failed Republican ideas with whatever Obama was able to retain from his original plan. It doesn't work, then Republicans blame Obama. So how about we actually try an Obama policy, and see what happens? If it fails, then you have your pristine talking point. But if it succeeds... well, I'm not sure exactly what you would do...

"The president has embraced solutions that are temporary gimmicks," Bachmann said. "They come and they go. That's what we saw tonight in the president's remarks."

Seems to me that Bachman has been the gimmick of the Republican party for quite some time. She came and now she'll be going. From wannabe to has been in less than a month. What do you call a presidential candidate that calls a news conference to rebutt the President's address to Congress and nobody pays any attention? Washed up. That's what. Bubbye Michele. Your lame tenure as a front runner for the GOP nomination came to a well deserved end last night.

Michele Bachmann don't have a clue what to do except Complain about President Obama and say No to everything. All this woman does Is LIES. She would be the worse thing for America, and the Tea party Is a Bunch of Crap.
