Washington (CNN) - She didn't get a lot of camera time in Wednesday night's Republican presidential debate, but Rep. Michele Bachmann may be in the spotlight Thursday night, following President Obama's jobs speech in front of Congress.
The three-term congresswoman from Minnesota and GOP White House hopeful announced Thursday morning that she will hold a news conference on Capitol Hill to react to the president's address.
Bachmann, who is admired by many in the tea party movement, has been a very vocal critic of Obama and his performance on the economy and jobs.
Bachmann formally launched her campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in late June and soon began to rise in most public opinion polls. But on the day of her biggest victory, her win at a crucial GOP straw poll in Ames, Iowa, she was eclipsed by Texas Gov. Rick Perry's announcement that he was jumping into the race for the White House. Since then she has seen her standing in national surveys drop as Perry has risen in the polls.
–CNN's Paul Steinhauser, Deirdre Walsh and Kate Bolduan contributed to this report.
No One want to hear from you Michele Bachmann , Every body all ready Know that you Republican and the Tea Party are not going to like It. You people don't even give the man a chance. And we all know that you don't even know what you are taking about and we all know you hate President Obama. You Republican and tea Party have Proven that every since President Obama Got Elected. That why America Is In has bad has It Is, Because you Republican and Tea Party are working so hard NOT to work with him. If you would try and work with him has hard has you are to do everything you can NOT to, Than America would be In better a lot better now.
Pay close attention. Word is, if you look closely, there will be a line of fishing wire attached to her forehead so they can give her subtle hints where to turn her head so she's looking at the correct camera this time.

I was wondering what she did in congress, now I know what her job is. She is an elected for of Rush Limbaugh. You know all criticism all the time.
Michelle, you can talk all you want. That's your privilege and i fully back your right to do so. However... I, and the rest of America, have the right to NOT listen to you. You've made a string of outragous, irrational and despicable comments. Throw in some outright lies, speech bordering on bigotry and racism, and a twisted sense of reality - from history to science - and really have no idea why anyone would want to listen to you. Here's an idea: instead of talking after our President's speech, fix yourself a bowl of popcorn, crack open a beer and watch football with the rest of us.
Frau Eva Braun aka Michelle Bachman might as well say what she's going to now, because it will be nothing but the same old blather with nothing original whatsoever. Can we pray you away Michelle?
re: Michele Bachmann is a serious candidate
I finally get it; you're working on your routine for Comedy Night at the local bar.
You had me thinking you were serious for a while.
Bachmann giving a "rebuttal", of no interest to me. Just more of the same – screaming, Obama bad, Obama socialist, Obama taking away my country, Obama worst President ever. – Give us a break!
No One want to hear from you Michele Bachmann , Every body all ready Know that you Republican and the Tea Party are not going to like It. You people don't even give the man a chance.
Don't even give the man a chance?!?!? That's precious. How about 2 years of a majority in the House, a fillibuster-proof supermajority in the Senate and enough borrowing to get American debt downgraded for the first time in history? He's had plenty of opportunity to play out his "fixes". Plenty of time, money and support. And things only got worse. "You people don't give the man a chance"... really?
I am still waiting for Rod Serling to come out and say that this is the Twilight Zone because of how surreal this whole GOP presidential field, and congress is.Michelle Bachmann has made many ludicrous statements, one of which she uttered last night at the debate. When the candidates were asked again whether any of them would change their answer from a previous debate at which they all said that they would reject a 10/1 ratio of spending cuts to revenue, not only did they all stand by their previous answers; but Michelle Bachmann in seeking to justify that stance, gave an explanation that was totally illogical, and indicted herself and everyone else on the stage by saying that Ronald Reagan made a 3/1, cuts to revenue deal with the Democrats. She destroyed her own position, and didn't even realize it; and given the radical views that she has held on everything from Birtherism, to re-education camps; I don't think that she is in any position to offer a credible critique of the president's plan.
I was so pleased to not see Michelle the crazy lady on camera that I hope it is a sign she will be gone from the race. She really isn't stable!
Can we go a day without one of her nonsensical rants?
She hasn't heard the speech but she already has her tea party double speak talking points ready.
If Perry hadn't entered the race, this would be more significant. Now she is just treading water. I guess she doesn't like football unlike other Americans.
Perry and Romney’ took her shine and knock her to down, she should be focusing on her campaign not a rebuttal to Obama's speech. If the rest of the party said no to a rebuttal speech it's for a reason. Me and a large majority of my GOP brothers and sister will be watching Football sorry Michelle you choose bad timing on this one and the people working your campaign should have known this.
NO president can do much without the support of Congress. Thus when you have a "DO NOTHING" Congress not much is going to get done one way or the other. Like any other president Obama will get too much blame when things go wrong and perhaps too much credit when things go right. Congress approval rating right now is 13% lowest in modern history. Perhaps Bachmann should address this as well especially since Congressional approval has sunk since the 2010 elections.
We are all aware what you are going to talk about Michele. This kind of talking (bashing) is what has pulled you back to where you stand on polls now. Will you ever learn something?
Four and The Door
Michele Bachmann is a serious candidate for the Republican nomination and this is entirely appropriate for her to do. For one thing, this is pretty much a televised campaign stop for Obama anyway.
Rep. Bachmann is not a serious candidate, and never was. The MSM says Perry sucked the air out of her room. Wrong. She blew it out when she promised $2 gas. That would take a *LOT* price subsidies going to big oil, just like we have farm subsidies going to farmers to hold down some prices.
Call it what you want. President Obama has a job to do. Suck up to the fact that he gets to do it from the bully pulpit.
