Obama takes jobs bill push to North Carolina

Raleigh, North Carolina (CNN) - President Barack Obama took the push for his $447 billion jobs plan to the politically pivotal state of North Carolina Wednesday, telling an enthusiastic college crowd that it's time to "finally get Washington to act."

"If you're in favor of America's job creators, this is your bill," Obama told an audience in a campaign-style setting at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. "The time for hand-wringing is over. ... We've got to pass this bill right away."

If they don't swallow his $447 billion jobs plan whole he's going to paint them as obstructionists, standing in the way of getting Americans back to work. ..
I just wish there would have been enough Republicans to " Obstruct" his first $850 billion stimulus bill. Every time he drives the debt up it's really a new threat to education, medicare, infrastructure and all of those other things that the government really should be spending it's money on. Instead, more and more federal revenues are being tied up perpetually to pay interest on the $15 trillion ( and rising ) of debt.

And Obama is right. The GOP has no interest in fixing the economy or in the people who have suffered the worst because of it. All they care about is sinking Obama and regaining power. It's very ironic; the GOP's policies ruined our economy yet they want another crack at it using the same failed ideas being presented by new people.

He threatened to take the AJA to the American people, and he's doing it. What are Republicans doing about the jobs they have been asking for over the past 30 months.

President Obama to Republicans: You're either with me, or you're against me
Oh honestly! We're against your FAILED POLICIES! When you get a clue, we might begin to be with you. Unfortunately, you have not shown a great ability to learn from your mistakes and change course. And as all the polls indicate, the couintry is also against you and your failed policies.

President Obama thank you very much to realize the republicans against you and the independent voters going to be against the republicans because they have not done anything to help you with the economy.

I find it extremely interesting that 44's approval numbers are higher than congress and more trust him regarding the economy than they do the GOP based on some polls.

I guess it's from seeing them vote no to end the oil subsidies, vote no for enemployment benefits extension, vote no for anything he suggests. Yet, they vote yes for these same things when it was their party who did it first. How can someone be so radical to a group wanting nothing more than power , when he's just using their own previous proposals, legislation, and laws.........I'm scratching my head on this one.

Some in the GOP are taking a victory lap for Weiner's old district, but they were quiet when the Ryan Plan allowed them to loose in a conservative district.

We each look at each other's political leanings and wonder how could you be for this party that does these atrocities, without looking at what they actually do and who they do it for, weither it's for the unions or for the oil companies, NONE of out best interests seem to be the drive, and we keep electing the same people who travel the country, wasting millions to brown nose, lie, and slander each other all for a job that pays $174K or $450K a year........they are laughing at us all the way to the bank. From Sarah PAC to Colbert PAC, it's all about who makes you feel good, all while making the other guy (or girl) look bad. I myself and voting this year strictly on maturity. Anyone who acts immature about this important problems will never get my vote! Maturity is possibly the only thing that can turn this country around, congress isn't showing it, the administration is not showing enough, and the current candidates running aren't showing any, the only person who is, will never get the nomination (hunstman). I'm starting to see this whole thing for what it really is, and I pray that alot more of us start too.

If President Obama had in fact said that, then there would have been quotation marks around it.

On that subject, I wish CNN would have picked a different "tagline." All that tagline does is make Obama sound like a republican ("my way or the highway" mentallity), when what we need from both sides is to stop playing politics and do what is right for all Americans.

I wonder if Obama thinks he is dealing with his wife Michelle or his children when he is demanding that the republicans side with him or they are against him. This man still does not get it. He believes that what he says should be the final word and nobody should try to object to anything he says or does. The republicans would definitely be failing the voters if they allowed this bill to go through without scrutinizng it and seeing what's good for the people and the country. He wants them to close their eyes and vote yes and that does not work in a democracy. So Obama you better wake up and realize where you are going wrong before you demand anything from the republicans. Obama is really the wrong person for this job and he definitely has to be voted out in 2012 before he destroys our country.

But President Obama won't settle for just something, his advisors say. He wants everything.
You go Mr. President!!! I've been waiting for this moment for almost 3 years!!
You are indeed a master chess player having given the GOP enough rope to hang themselves -figuratively unfortunately-, making the arrogant sob's see you as weak because you kept reaching out across the aisle to them while they very brazenly and stupidly kept shooting you down and disrespecting you for good measure. Now what are they going to do? They want to compromise. Imagine that?! But you are going for the entire enchilada......and the entire country is standing behind you yelling PASS THIS BILL!!!!!!!
Whatchagonnado now GOTeatards? With President Obama not "caving" in to you how are you going to play past this one?
Your jig is up. The mask has fallen from your lying face. The country knows what you're about, and it is NOT in the best interest of the middle class.
    PASS THE POPCORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About 30% of the dems I know aren't voting for Obummie. Obummie you are one and done. Period......end of conversation.

I cannot believe the comments here. Obama ands the democrats have spent this country into the sewer. If you idiots knew what is coming you would rush to put in politicians who would immediately put in place austerity measures to get us back to fiscal sanity. Would you rather cut back spending now or face no money in the near future for anyone? That is where we are going folks and our debt is unpayable right now. What happens when countries stop buying our bonds. Our country is broke, don't you get it? STOP THE DAMN SPENDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This President is against Christian Ethiopian immigrants systematically, in America and elsewhere. Since he become President, we witnessed he did a lots of Cultural damages against Ethiopian immigrants. Who is he? Why he is different from Republicans in terms of...? His Secret Agents(Black Slave Descendants) caused Cultural Genocides against innocent Ethiopian immigrants in America and elsewhere.

    Viva Republicans!!!

Everyone on this board including the GOP knows that what the President is proposing is right!! They wanted to do them before, so what has changed now? Oh, and for you folks that are talking about the failure of the first 850b stimulus package, I think you need to go do some research because jobs were created!!

Same old Obama, say one thing and then do another. One day he preaches that the American people want those in Washington to put party politics aside and work together and compromise. Now he says Republicans have to let him dictate his jobs plan to them and pass it as is right away. No time to work together on a compromise. Obama seems confused on what it is the American people want. Especially in light of the fact that there is no poll that shows anywhere near a majority of voters support his plan. Cnn poll shows only 43% approve at this time, Rasmussen 38% and Blomberg show 51% believe the plan WILL NOT create jobs to lower the unemployment rate. If this is a with me or not with me challenge, looks like more voters are not with him then who are. I do not see any Republicans sweating over negative voter reaction if they do not pass the entire Obama plan and instead incorporate some of it in a compromise bill.

If memory serves, the people had cried, "You bailed out Wall St, what about Main St." We were losing 750,000 jobs per month. They didn't take the time to delegate every dollar. Instead of asking states for ideas, they simply sent money to the states, who they figured knew how to best serve their constituents. It seemed to have worked rather well in most states. Republican governers gave out tax cuts like cigars for a newborn.

It's quite the role reversal. As the president tries to play hardball, House Republicans – who were downright obstinate in their opposition to the president during the debt ceiling negotiations – are calling for compromise
Let's see how you Rethugs like him now?
They are not only against you Mr. President, they are quite brazenly, and unapologetically against America itself.
Greed before God and country that has been the Republican motto snce you took office Mr. President.
Take it to them. They do not deserve your graciousness nor your sense of fair play.
The President NEVER ran scared of these thugs in disguise, but it certainly looks as if Boo-Hoo will really be crying now.
All the way Mr. President, take it to them ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are our last, best and only chance of getting America of of it's knees.

Is that why Congress has dropped to record lows since the Tea Party took over the House. Is that why Republicans, the Tea Party, Republicans in Congress all poll lower than President Obama? Is that why polls show more Americans *trust* President Obama more than they do Republicans? Must be.

  21. No Amnesty for Teabaggers - Impeach Republicans

The republicans have been trying to create a third world country out of the United States, and they are succeeding. Obama's policies have not failed, what has failed is not putting "Country First' on the republican side of the aisle.

As GM goes, so goes the country...Unions/Democrats killed GM, now they are killing the country.

You mentioned failed policies are you talking about. Granted here had zero job growth last month, but before that we had continued job growth. This is compared to GWB negative job growth, 740,000 job lost per month, over 4 million lost their jobs.

Are taking about saving the auto industry or preventing capitalism from going over the edge.. I am puzzled: you say failed but you are not specific.

I got it: the Stimulus bill, which The Congressional Budget Office reported that the bill saved nearly 2 million jobs. Are talking about this failed policy.

Failed Polices- Empty words my friend. Next time come with specific facts to fill your empty words.

The racist, terrorist, Nazi Party (curently known as the Tea Party) are too busy helping the extreemly wealthy in American to accumulate all the Wealth of the united States produced on the backs of the middle class, to be for President Obama, that wants Government to work for the Middle class not just the Upperclass.

These Tea Trolls may wrap them elves in the American flag and claim to speak for God, but we see thier true colors .. worse then Nazis.

I may not approve of how President Obama has performed over these past two years... he has been way too nice ... but I am certianly not going to vote for a Tea Party picked canidate ... and I will vote.
