(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul received some celebrity love, care of Vince Vaughn Friday.
The actor and comedian introduced the Texas congressman at the Liberty Political Action Conference in Reno, Nevada.
"Vince is a great guy who loves Liberty," Paul campaign chairman Jesse Benton told CNN. "Dr. Paul is proud to have his friendship and support."
According to Paul's website, Vaughn invited Paul and his wife to the premiere of his 2009 film "Couples Retreat," and Vaughn endorsed Paul's 2009 book "End the Fed."
Vaughn is best known for starring roles in such films as "Wedding Crashers" and "Old School."

Oh look, not all actors are liberal, some are morons.
At the end of the day, MOST Republicans don't care about Liberty. Just look at their freedom crushing, intrusive government oppression position on gay marriage as one example of many. These are people who think phasing to energy efficient lightbulbs is the height of government oppression, but they LITERALLY WANT the government to force women to give birth against their will and dictate who can marry whom. Republicans want the most oppressive and intrusive government imaginable...they just want it on their terms. The hypocrisy is sickening.
Vince is rich! Why wouldn't he support the GOP?
Paul is pretty interesting until he goes into foriegn policy and you get the idea he such a secluslonist that it would take us back for pre WWII times. He has great ideas on limiting government size but we do not live in a world now where we can only concern ourslelves with whats within our own borders. Get of some of wars yes but if we did all he wanted we would never interfere even when genocide is occuring and that is not what the US should be about.
Vince is an idiot -
No longer a Vince Vaughn fan.
Who cares. Vince Vaughn who? You mean the airhead that makes B movies?
Cool! Ron Paul 2012 baby!!!
A celebrity that gets it...I didn't even think that excisted!
This just means Vaughn's career as an actor will be very limited going forward. Hollywood will not tolerate disent from its liberal roots. hoepfully the small number of conservative actors now speaking out can change that trend.
Vince Vaughn? Vince Vaughn? Who the hell is Vince Vaughn?
Step 1: Invert sandwich baggy over your hand.
Step 2: Reach down and pick this story up.
Step 3: Quickly revert sandwich around this story.
Step 4: Drop story in nearby bin provided by the Parks Department.
Of course we get a story about this instead of the fact that DOJ is sending up alarms over TX's redistricting plan...
Dang, and I liked him. Oh well, I'll stick with Tommy Lee Jones instead- a much smarter dude.
So Vince Vaughn supports the GOP death panels. Well he's a lousy comedian and a pathetic excuse for a human being.
In a nutshell, Ron Paul believes that there should be almost no federal, state, or local gov't and that business and the marketplace should be entrusted with taking care of everything. Uhuh. ENRON and the banks should be left alone to take care of things for us.
Then you should get out more often. Celebrities are not Demi Gods. They come in all shapes sizes, and yes...some are idiots. Now go drool over baby celebrity photos.
The trouble with Ron Paul is that with almost everything he recommends is to do nothing, let everything, like water, seek its own level. That is sometimes okay but many times it is not only irresponsible but also ridiculous. I guess he just can't get out of the Libertarian thinking.
No doubt Mr. Vaughn will vote for Obama in 2012.
Funny how virtually every single right-winger comment here is laced with major grammatical errors. Just goes to show the sane, intelligent portion of society what a bunch of insane idiots support the right. Please God, send a meteor or some other form of divine intervention to wipe out the right-wingers (amen).
Well, what little respect I had for Mr. Vaughn has just gone out the window. How can you support a man who claims to be anti-government but has held a government position for 30 plus years? Like Perry, Bachmann, Palin....I do not understand the appeal of any of the Republican candidates. They are so OUT OF TOUCH.
"Of course we get a story about this instead of the fact that DOJ is sending up alarms over TX's redistricting plan..."
Typical of the Obama administration who if they can't end around it through Czars they litigate to get their way. We do not like being strong armed in Texas so this bully tactic is a loser deal politically for the Statist and Chief.
"Why is every picture of Ron Paul, shows his blazer is a size too big on him?"
Because he was (rather IS) a doctor and haven't you seen doctors wearing those oversize aprons.
Is Vaugh a C or D list actor? I would hope that Paul could do better than this!!
Looks like Vaughn crashed two more parties.... GOP and Libertarian
If only he could do an actual good movie.
