Obama addresses U.N. General Assembly

UNITED NATIONS (CNN) - U.S. President Barack Obama, who took office when the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were raging, told the U.N. General Assembly that the "tide of war is receding."

Obama spoke Wednesday amid dramatic changes seen across the globe in the past year, particularly in the Arab world, and his remarks come as Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas urges the United Nations to recognize an independent Palestinian state.

Why doesn't US media report on the current turbulent polictical climate within Israel, instead of quoting people saying "Obama threw Israel under the bus."? Large numbers of people in Israel have taken to the streets off and on since Netanyahu's visit to the US because they disagree with how he characterized President Obama's statements at the time. They realized that a hard liner like Netanyahu does not want peace at all; that all he really wants is for the Palestinian problem to go away somehow, by force if necessary.

"Why doesn't US media report on the current turbulent polictical climate within Israel, instead of quoting people saying "Obama threw Israel under the bus."?"

To be fair, Piers Morgan interviewed former Isreali Prime Minister and current MInister of Defense Ehud Barak last night and it was relatively interesting. Barak pretty much poo-poo'd all the nonsense coming out of the GOP's mouths about Obama siding with the Palestinians and ruining the US's relationship with Israel...and he found no merit to the jumbled rhetorical vomit spewed by Parry yesterday at his "NY-9 Strategery" event. Granted, this isn't "reporting" in the sense that CNN is actively trying to get the word out that reality took a dump on the GOP's baseless rhetoric, but it's at least a little closer to "journalism" than usual for them.

  7. As GM goes, so goes the country...Unions/Democrats killed GM, now they are killing the country

To recap.... blah, blah, blah....and the beat goes on. The UN is a joke. We should pull all funding and throw the den of spies out. I'm sure New Yorkers would appreciate the lack of disruption.

Is this some sort of joke??? Obama started bombing and attacking Libya without so much as notifying our Congress, let alone getting approval. Even many Democrats were PO'd. Had it been Bush, there would have been calls of impeachment. But it is OK when liberals disregard the Constitution because they don't believe in it anyways.
