Why Congress won't stop hurting you

Washington (CNN) - Is Congress capable of doing anything right?

It's a question worth asking as Democrats and Republicans threaten for the third time this year to shut down the federal government. Americans faced the same prospect during spring budget talks and the summer debt ceiling debate. Now it's happening over what was expected to be passage of a routine bill to fund Washington through mid-November while replenishing disaster relief funds.

  1. Obama/Biden 2012 -- Because 4 years of FAILURE just isn't enough

Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats have become the party of NO. NO votes, NO paying for anything, NO fiscal responsibility. The ONLY solution is to rid the Senate of Democrats and their fiscal irresponsibility.

When you have Republican leaders who publicly admit their number one priority is to make Obama a one term President and that is their entire focus you cant expect congress to work for the people, they work for their party which is exactly what has caused the economy to take another dive, and ever since the day Republicans were elected the then improving economy went backwards again. Republicans have long ago proved that when they are in charge the country suffers financially, exept of course for the wealthy and corporations. History will eventually record the fact that Republicans have acted with malice and danger to purposely ruin the economy in an attempt to re gain power and try to take out Obama. This will one day be factual history and a very ugly point in American history.

Oh, I don't know. Is it because as soon as they see their plush offices they forget who put them there with their votes. I am not talking about the rich who now owns them because they gave them money. I mean forget the little guy who doesn't have a job for life or health insurance for life or all the perks (free parking, low cost lunches). That would be my first inclination as to why they don't won't stop hurting the 98% of Americans. Then there are the teapublikans (cantor, bachman, kyl, paul, ryan, etc., etc.,) who are just a bunch or leeches.

Perhaps a shut down would show how ineffective government has become, it's not like they are doing anything anyway. Block, no, block, no...can we change the record, PLEASE! But, if you are going to shut down then give us back our money!

If you were to get rid of the Tea Party in Congress, then compromises can be reached as they have in the past. The "Party of No" has been playing dirty politics ever since Obama took office.

As much as Republicans like to blame "President Obama's failed policies" for the slow recovery, it has been Republican economic policies that have prevailed since Obama took office. One of Grover Nordquist's stated goals for any Democrat in the White House has been to force them to govern like a conservative through filibusters and saying "no compromise" to everything that is not 100% to their liking.

Oh, this is simple. Congress won't stop hurting you because YOU WON"T HURT THEM.

Independent & moderate-minded Republicans – if you care about this country, FIRE the GOP Party from Congress in 2012 & 2014. I promise you, they will not vanish, BUT they will get the message. STOP OBSTRUCTING & WORK TOGETHER with whomever the leader is.

If you don't, and simply support one of the LAME 9, 10 or 11 GOP candidates that has been upchucked to the American people - AND they get elected President - the Democrats will lower themselves to the same obstructionist tactics that the GOP has employed against Barack Obama. Don't expect the Democrats to "take it" under Obama and not "give it" under Romney or Perry. Payback is a B ! +c #.

The key is to show the offenders that CRIME does not PAY. The GOPTP'ers are the "criminals" right now. If you vote them out, it will save the Republican Party. If you don't, the GOP won't change; it won't evolve. It will DIE.

Maybe if you expained clearly to the Republican Congess that people are corporations you might get a bit of their time. Try reverse psychology as they clearly do not believe that corporations are people. Corporations are their golden path to a rich life. People are only needed for their vote so when elected they can continue to work for the corporations and their goals. Forget that for the people by the people stuff. That went out the window years ago. How is that world trade thingy going for you? The corporations love it as THEIR elected continue to support it.

As long as we have ANY democrat (especially a half-white one) in the white house, the republicans/baggers will not allow ANYTHING positive to happen. It's like they think the white house is strictly for republicans. It's the crazines that is being pushed by the likes of Palin, Bachmann, Perry, and sometimes even the more moderate Romney. They will not do anything to help this country until they RULE THE ENTIRE GOVERNMENT AND MAKE US SERFS TO CATER TO THEIR WEALTHY BUDDIES. It has got to stop. Fascism is not pretty, and it's right at our doorstep with this group of republicans/baggers.
