McCain hails Libya as inspiration

Tripoli, Libya (CNN) - In his first visit to Libya since the fall of Moammar Gadhafi, Sen. John McCain hailed that nation's revolution as the showcase for the so-called Arab Spring but acknowledged a tough road lay ahead.

"The Libyan people have inspired the world," McCain said. "They have turned cynics into supporters."

Sen. McCain has been advocating boots on the ground in Libya since almost day one. He paid a previous visit to Libya and was a few miles from heavy fighting. No doubt he had members of the US military with him.

Now he's back in Libya, and he's brought company this time. No doubt this trip means that there are US military boots on the ground accompanying the group.

If you are going to have a meeting with the rebels, why not do it outside of Libya? Or at least away from the heaviest of the fighting?

This McCain group recklessly chimed in on the President`s strategy to have NATO do some of the "HEAVY LIFTING". They were critical of it. It`s easy to sit back, chuck rocks at an action plan, and IF it goes wrong, yammer on with the "I TOLD YOU SOs.

I want a world where McCain pays a very steep price for BEING WRONG. The President`s approach has proven to be one of the FASTEST, most COST EFFECTIVE, and SAFEST [Zero American lives Lost] actions that removed a murderous dictator from power EVER in history. It has been damn near PERFECT – which never happens in the "real world". Any deviation from Obama`s approach toward McCain`s or Rubio`s would have been less effective by comparrisoN and some American family might be burying a loved one.

Politics historically has stopped at the waters edge off of the continental US. Too bad that DESPITE his unimpeachable performance, Mr. Obama faces a different, and HIGHER, standard.

Leading from behind huh McCain? You and Lindsey need to take a powder and review how a president that knows what he's doing, handles a middle east conflict.

Hey, GOP / Tea Pee Pants people....any ideas on how to the disparage the president on how he handled this? Would your idea be to have Perry as our president so we can wage war on a strengthened Iran, now that they have annexed Iran because of the Bushy/Cheney cabal?

You people never cease to amaze. And you have the unmitigated gall to call yourselves patriots. Either you people get it wrong all the time, or you intentionally want this president and the country to fail...which is it?

I couldn't imagine how much trouble this country would be in if we had a GOP/Tea Pee pants type in the White House right now. We would be so screwed. Those people lack a reasonable thought process
