Washington (CNN) - Less than one-fifth of Americans think a terrorist attack is likely in their own community, according to a new national survey.

And a CNN/ORC International Poll also indicates that just over a third of the public says an act of terrorism is likely somewhere in the U.S. in the next few weeks.

Missouri moves back from February to March

(CNN) - The Missouri GOP is moving back its nominating contest in the presidential primary and caucus calendar.

Thursday night the Missouri Republican State Committee decided to hold a caucus on March 17. State law had set Missouri's primary on February 7, but that date would have been in violation of Republican National Committee rules which required all states but Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina to wait until March 6 to hold their contests, or risk losing sending half their delegates to the party's national nominating convention in Tampa, Florida in August of next year.

First lady steps out, quietly does some shopping at Target

Washington (CNN) - She has the White House staff at her disposal, but that didn't stop first lady Michelle Obama from making a Target run in a Virginia suburb of Washington Thursday.

Dressed casually in a gray Nike hat, loose floral blouse, black pants and red flats, the first lady was seen pushing a cart and carrying several bags from the mega-retailer at a Target in Alexandria, Virginia. The store is about a 15-minute drive from the White House. A photographer from The Associated Press snapped a photograph of Obama exiting the store.

Paul criticizes Obama on al-Awlaki killing

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul criticized President Obama Friday for "assassinating" al Qaeda operative Anwar al-Awlaki, saying that the American-born Muslim cleric should have been tried in a U.S. court.

Al-Awlaki, who preached terror as the public face of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, was killed in Yemen Friday when an airstrike hit his motorcade, a Yemeni government official said. A "successful joint intelligence-sharing operation" between Yemen and the United States led to the attack that killed al-Awlaki, a Yemeni government official said Friday.

Military chaplains allowed to perform same-sex weddings

,

Washington (CNN) - Ten days after the military dumped its "don't ask, don't tell" policy on gays and lesbians in the military, the Pentagon has issued new rules allowing military chaplains to perform same-sex marriages, but only if allowed by law and the chaplain's beliefs.

"A military chaplain may participate in or officiate any private ceremony, whether on or off a military installation, provided that the ceremony is not prohibited by applicable state and local law," a memo released Friday says. "Further a chaplain is not required to participate in or officiate a private ceremony if doing so would be in variance with the tenets of his or her religion."

Gingrich to GOP pres. candidates: Stop fighting and 'get over it'

Des Moines, Iowa (CNN) - The college professor who's running for president put out an instructional message for Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann and the other Republican presidential candidates: Stop the "seventh grade recess" fighting and "get over it."

"I have one opponent: Barack Obama," said Newt Gingrich Thursday evening at the Iowa GOP headquarters in Des Moines. "And frankly, I wish some of my good friends – especially the ones who have the most money – would adopt a little more of Reagan's 11th commandment and get over it," Gingrich added, referring to the 40th president's oft-quoted rule that Republicans shouldn't speak ill of other Republicans.
