Columbia, South Carolina (CNN) - Mitt Romney's campaign is keeping a tight lid on the presidential candidate's schedule when he swings through South Carolina next week, but his state chairman is already distributing an invitation to a fundraiser reception that will benefit his re-election campaign.
South Carolina Treasurer Curtis Loftis distributed an invitation by email and Facebook for an evening reception with the former Massachusetts governor in Charleston on Thursday. Romney is expected to campaign in the state Thursday and Friday.
Loftis is considered one of the most tea party-friendly elected officials in the early southern primary state. This will be the first fundraiser Romney is headlining on Loftis' behalf since the state treasurer endorsed the two-time presidential candidate in early September.
According to the invitation, it will cost $500 per couple or person or $1000 to be a reception host, to raise money for Loftis who is up for re-election in 2014.
On Friday, Romney's wife, Ann, concluded a two-day visit in South Carolina. Loftis introduced the candidate's wife, who submitted the paperwork and $35,000 required to get Romney's name on the Republican presidential primary ballot in the Palmetto State.
