Christie: 'Now is not my time'

(CNN) - Republican Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey announced Tuesday he will not run for president in 2012.

The first-term governor said the pressure he received over the past few months caused him to consider throwing his hat in the ring - after repeatedly shooting down rumors - but that ultimately he is committed to his position in the Garden State.

Republican group hits Obama economics in new ad

(CNN) - President Barack Obama is the target of a new ad from American Crossroads, an independent Republican advocacy group, which attacks the president's economic policies ahead of his trip to St. Louis Tuesday.

The 30-second spot juxtaposes Obama's past comments about not raising taxes with news accounts of his jobs plan that, if passed, would add one and half trillion dollars in new tax revenue.

CNN: Justice Department source rejects report that leaked documents show Holder erroneously testified
Documents leaked on Capitol Hill to CNN and other news organizations purport to show Attorney General Eric Holder knew about a controversial gun-running operation earlier than he had testified. But a high-level Justice Department official strongly rejected the notion that Holder had improperly testified at a Senate hearing in March.
