Cain charges some in black community of racism

(CNN) – GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain said Tuesday that many liberal Democrats in the black community are "racist" for questioning his political ambitions as a black conservative Republican.

"A lot of these liberal, leftist folk in this country, that are black, they're more racist than the white people that they're claiming to be racist," Cain said Tuesday in a radio interview on the conservative Neal Boortz talk show.

Boortz interrupted Cain, saying he prefers the word "bigoted" to "racist."

"Ok, bigoted," Cain said. "How dare Herman Cain, first, run as a Republican? How dare Herman Cain be conservative? And how dare he move up in the polls, so that he just might challenge our beloved Obama? That's the problem they have."

Cain's comments came just hours before a New Hampshire debate, where Cain, who's surged to top tier status in the presidential race, is expected to take the heat from other candidates now that he's assumed front-runner status.

In the interview Tuesday, he also said that in a hypothetical matchup between he and President Barack Obama, there would "almost be no contest" and argued that he could talk about issues more in depth than Obama.

"He's never been part of the black experience in America," Cain said. "I can talk about that. I can talk about what it really meant to be 'po' before I was poor."

The Republican candidate came under fire recently for saying African Americans are generally on a level playing field with other Americans and sometimes use racism as an excuse for being poor.

"They weren't held back because of racism," Cain told CNN's "State of the Union" anchor Candy Crowley. "People sometimes hold themselves back because they want to use racism as an excuse for them not being able to achieve what they want to achieve."

His comments kicked off a wave of responses from high-profile African American leaders, who argue Cain is out of touch with reality.

"There are disparities in this country in every [socioeconomic] factor that we follow. In every aspect of our human endeavors in this country there is a racial disparity element that's a part of it. It's almost silly to respond to [Cain] because the evidence is so overwhelming," PBS host Tavis Smiley said in the interview with CNN anchor Suzanne Malveaux on Monday.

"many liberal Democrats in the black community are "racist"......Got that right. Folks like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Shelia Jackson Lee, Barak Hussein Obama, Erik Holder, Jamie Fox, Morgan Freeman, just to name a few.

No matter what you may think of Mr. Cain, I'm sure we can all agree he speaks the truth. Just accept the truth, even if it hurts.

In case you were wondering where the lazy (R) pigs are on this Board today – here they come. Just mention race and out they come like roaches.

As far as Cain's comments go he's just a lazy, low self esteem bigot of a black person who STILL can't get over the fact God decided to give him dark skin and just like Michael Jackson – he'll forever be depressed, lonely, USED and over rated until death. Poor thing.

"They weren't held back because of racism," Cain says. If they're unemployed or poor, its their own fault – they're just lazy or stupid.
And when they criticize Cain for saying this, they're being racist.

For now, I'm holding firm on my prediction he drops out before end of October. There's no shark this guy won't jump.

"People sometimes hold themselves back because they want to use racism as an excuse for them not being able to achieve what they want to achieve."

I suppose we should add all those sociological and economic studies to the "To Be Burned" pile with the rest of the human race's scientific, technological and cultural achievements?

Okay, didn't last week he call blacks brainwashed? Now he's accusing them of being racist. This guy has dropped so many race cards but yet he has the nerve to call other blacks racist. No, Cain they are not racist because if that were true, you would have more of them endorsing you. It's not about race, it's about substance. Something he is obviously lacking.

""People sometimes hold themselves back because they want to use racism as an excuse for them not being able to achieve what they want to achieve.""

His narcissism requires him to believe that...desperately to believe that and cling to it is one of the keystones of his fervent belief that he is somehow apart and above the rest of the black community...strangely and beautifully unique in his singular ability to succeed where all others have failed and made excuses. Rationalizations, delusions of granduer, projections, etc....all part and parcel of being a GOPer/Teatroll.

I wish the politicians would just stick with the real issues. People are going to vote for who they're going to vote for. Cain, along with the others, should start giving us concrete solutions to the problems this nation is facing, instead of smoke-screaning us with issues that are not going to fuel a true recovery in our economy. Focus on the issIues!!!! Let's hear real solutions!!!! If all you can do is badger your opponent instead of keeping your focal point on what counts, you may be no better off than who you badger! It's the issues, guys... the issues!!!

►"A lot of these liberal, leftist folk in this country, that are black, they're more racist than the white people that they're claiming to be racist," Cain said◄

First of all – Name the "liberals" on the LEFT that are saying that? Are you talking about BLOGGERS – like me (even though I never said it)???? If you are basting your facts on Bloggers, then you are a LOSER!!! Besides, you already said that Black people were "brainwashed" – then why do you expect anything from us??

Cain must sit around – when he's NOT pushing his book – and read all of the blogs on CNN!!! Doesn't he know that a lot of the bloggers are blogging as if they are another RACE, just to stir up controversy? There is a blogger here that calls himself "Black Man in America" and I know for a fact, he's NOT Black!!!

Cain – get your head out of the cloud and come down and MEET some Black folks in Detroit, NY, LA and listen to what they have to say about you – Better yet, offer a way you will help them get out of the ghetto!! You might be surprised and see it has NOTHING to do about RACE at all!!!

Wow! I did not know that the liberal left black Democrats have enslaved, segregated and stopped whites from getting ahead in America. With this remark he should get 100% of the black vote.

most statistics do not prove or disprove a cause and effect relationship. they only can suggest an association. the step to bigotry and or racism in this example is as mark twain describes the difference "between believing a thing and thinking you know is only a small step and quickly taken"

    this ought to be easy

I would like to say this about Herman, its all about money. He would throw his own mother under the bus for a dime. The reason he claims that Democrats are racist is because they see through him. He knows that no matter what the polls say, he will never get support from his own party. I have yet to hear him or any of the RNC address the issues that all Americans face. Instead they take the easy road by blaming the liberals or a particular race for our economic decline. That is not going to cut it if he wants to win the votes of thinking people. He's just Sarah Palin wearing shoepolish instead of lipstick. If you take away his money, you wouldn't see or hear him. Most of his beef about Obama is that he is just another millionaire who doesn't like being taxed as he should be. I hope he does well in the polls because he will only make a bigger donkey out of himself.
