Debt committee could raise risk of U.S. downgrade

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) – As if finding consensus on debt reduction in a hyper-partisan environment isn't hard enough.

The other mission of the congressional debt committee is to prove to the world - and credit ratings agencies - that Congress isn't completely dysfunctional.

As long as there are teabaggers and republicans in congress, our government will be dysfunctional. Save our country, fire all republicans in 2012.

Where is the Republican plan to stimulate the jobs growth and the economy?
1- Lower taxes? Despite right wing claims of tax increases, the Obama administration has lowered taxes
2- Relaxed EPA regulations? Despite right wing claims, the Obama administration has not tightened regs.
3- Extend the Bush Tax Cuts? That "stimulant" is what caused our current defiicits, and it has killed jobs.
4- Stand back and do nothing? We're doing that now, just as we have for the past year. Do nothing.
5- Listen to "most American"? Republicans believe that Americans need to told what to think. Democrats listen.

I say sometimes you have to bleed a little to keep from suffering a fatal wound. Let us be downgraded. Better than to go completely broke and go the way of Greece. Obummie and his band of fools policies will turn us into Greece in a couple of years. Obummie needs to call off his union thugs and degenerates on Wall Street and tell them to do community service to collect their Obummie checks and food stamps.

That is something Congress is unlikely to accomplish. They will never show they can work together........because the welfare party of the Democrats cannot work with people who are sensible and rational.

  7. The Greedy Old Pigs have declared class war on US!

All of this manufactured drama because the GOBPbaggin deathcult refuses to admit that tax cuts for the ultrarich is a proven policy failure. Caring for the greedy and not the needy is the sign of an intellectually and morally failed cult.

I agree. We already know that the Congress is not going to accomplish anything constructive. Republicans have shown that they will never work together with Democrats. That's what happens when you send people to Congress who swear allegiance to a lobbyist by signing his pledge, and foreswearing any commitments to their electorate.

The members of the Debt Committee should be the first Congressmen we recall if they fail us again. It's time for America to throw the obstructionists out – including the Tea Party lap-dogs.
