Santorum's 0-0-0 for Cain's 9-9-9

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN) - Appearing poised for another feisty debate performance, former Sen. Rick Santorum is focusing his conservative barbs on newly-ascendant candidate Herman Cain.

Santorum's criticism at a campaign stop of the former Godfather's Pizza CEO is one sign that Cain will experience the traditional role of a front-runner in the debate Tuesday night: that of punching bag.

Polls: 3 months before primaries, Romney on top in 2 key states

(CNN) - Hours before the Republican presidential candidates face off in their first debate in 19 days, new polls indicate that Mitt Romney's on top of the field in the race for the GOP nomination in the first two states to vote in the primary and caucus calendar.

Jobs Council: More investment needed for jobs

Washington (CNNMoney) - President Obama's jobs council on Tuesday released a list of proposals to spur job growth, putting investment in roads and bridges and tax breaks to encourage start-ups and company growth at the top of the list.

"When 25 million Americans who want full-time work can't find it, each of us has a duty to think and act differently," the report said. "We owe it to our fellow citizens desperate to get back to work to act on these common sense ideas without delay."

Plouffe: Economic frustrations stirring Wall Street protests

(CNN) - The Occupy Wall Street protesters are giving voice to the sentiments of families across the United States, senior Obama adviser David Plouffe said Tuesday.

"The protests you're seeing are the same conversations people are having in living rooms and kitchens all across America," Plouffe said on ABC's "Good Morning America." "People are frustrated by an economy that does not reward hard work and responsibility, where Wall Street and Main Street don't seem to play by the same set of rules."

Debate the first showdown since dramatic changes in GOP field

Washington (CNN) – What a difference 19 days make.

The last Republican presidential debate was held nearly three weeks ago in Orlando. Since then, Texas Gov. Rick Perry lost his front-runner status in the national polls in the race for the GOP nomination, thanks in part to a poor performance at that debate, to constant attacks from the rival campaigns over his stance on illegal immigration, border security, and Social Security, and to his lackluster showing at a straw poll in Florida two weeks ago.

Herman Cain's 9-9-9 tax plan: Break for the rich?

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) – Herman Cain has a plan to radically reform the nation's tax system and make things a lot simpler for taxpayers.
