(CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann paid a visit to Trump Tower in New York Thursday to meet with real estate mogul Donald Trump.
It was the third such visit for the Minnesota congresswoman, who said she and Trump had a "wonderful breakfast" and agreed to continue a "close relationship."
Trump passed on his own bid for the White House earlier this year and has since hosted major GOP candidates at his home.
Bachmann noted the reality television star's penthouse was "impeccable" and that his chef served a breakfast of fruit, coffee, juice and egg whites.
The trip follows a rough patch for the candidate whose national poll numbers have declined recently. A CNN Poll of Polls released Thursday showed Bachmann at 5% behind former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at 23%, businessman Herman Cain at 20%, Texas Gov. Rick Perry at 14%, Rep. Ron Paul of Texas at 10% and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at 6%.
But Bachmann maintained her campaign is strong and that the poll numbers are simply a sign of the race's volatility.
"I think what it says is that this is absolutely volatile and that it's anyone's to win right now," Bachmann said after her meeting with Trump. "It is not solid. Every day it's a new person who could be president of the United States."
She pointed specifically to her August win at the Ames Straw Poll in the first-in-the-nation caucus state of Iowa as a sign of her political strength.
"I'm the only candidate that won the Iowa straw poll. That is the most significant straw poll in this race," Bachmann said. "We are very well-positioned in this race and we look forward to competing and winning."

I sure hopes she loses her seat in the MN. 6th. She is not fit to be a representative in the Congress. The woman has done nothing in Congress, i.e. not one piece of legislation she has introduced has become law. She certainly has no chance in this race.

Why are these candidates meeting with Trump? They should be talking to the real leader of the right wingnuts, Rush Limbag. At least we know Rush's breakfast would include a dozen eggs, two pounds of bacon, three pounds of hash browns, and a toast with Promise margarine.

Despite her poll numbers – you know that Michelle is going to fight to the end. How can you not admire all these strong, principled Conservative women. Over the years, these women have not only been a true minority but also have been viciously attacked by both the Left and the so-called women's movement. I would want my daughter to grow up idolizing these women.

I would pay to see the looks on the candidates faces when they finally realize that Trump is going to donate much of anything to their campaigns. Trump is going to do what is best for Trump. Always.
