(CNN) -– Rep. Michele Bachmann’s presidential campaign spent nearly $2 million more than it raised in the third quarter, but was still left with more than $1 million in cash-on-hand funds, according to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission Saturday.
In total, Bachmann raised $3.9 million and spent $5.9 million. Her cash-on-hand total came in at $1.3 million.
Bachmann’s cash on hand reflects money received in previous quarters. Bachmann went into the third quarter with over $3 million in cash-on-hand funds.
The financial report also shows Bachmann’s campaign holding more than $500,000 in debt.
A recent CNN Poll of Polls showed 5% of Republican voters naming Bachmann as their preferred candidate.

She is also carrying $500,000.00 in debt so how does this "Flake" manage a Natiional Debt when she can't manage her own campaign? I forgot that she and her husband can pray up the difference.
Spending more money than she takes in? Well on the bright side, Her campaign will be broke by the end of the next quarter, will her spending stop when she hits $0.00 or will she take on debt, that will be the true test of her fiscal conservative credentials.

$2 million in deficit spending? And Bachmann expects us to believe she can handle the national debt? Of course, this is the same candidate who criticizes federal grants and stimulus money, calling it socialism, while applying for stimulus money. She and her husband didn't object to applying for federal funds for training employees at his "pray away the gay" clinic or for farm subsidies. They never even blinked at applying for state funds to help them pay for care for their foster children. None of that is illegal or even unethical. It's just plain hypocritical.

Sadly, Jon Huntsman, the only rational candidate in the Republican lineup, appears to be the guy nobody will support. He's not crazy enough but Michelle Bachman certainly qualifies!
I think Mrs. Bachmann should stop dreaming or ask HER God again if he really wanted her to run.

This is the essence of what is wrong with American politics. We're still several months away from the first primary and they candidates are already spending obscene amounts of cash. And it seems to be getting worse with every election.
The woudl-be president obviously is better suited for the job than I thought- she knows deficit spending. Looking at her number however, Obama and Bush wouldhave had to up thier ante by trillions to be in the same percentage league.
She claims to be a fiscal Conservative, but then can't keep her spending within the contraints of her fund raising over the same period, and has to dip into surplusses from previous quarters to keep up with her campaign spending habits?
I wonder what the TEA party will make of this?

Let's see ... 4 – 6 = -2. This is how she runs her fledgling campaign yet she harshly criticizes the government for its debt. This lady is in simple English a loser. Voting for her would be like voting to put a hole in my head.
The fact that Michele Bachmann is overspending now is not a good sign. Where is her fiscal responsibility. She is joined by others who have raised money and overspent.
In all an obscene amount of money is being spent by both parties on this election which will not occur until November 2012. Just think how that money could be spent such as feeding folks and helping others to find housing, etc.
Isn't that what is called running a deficit? I thought Tea Party candidates were opposed to that.
