(CNN) -– Rep. Michele Bachmann’s presidential campaign spent nearly $2 million more than it raised in the third quarter, but was still left with more than $1 million in cash-on-hand funds, according to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission Saturday.
In total, Bachmann raised $3.9 million and spent $5.9 million. Her cash-on-hand total came in at $1.3 million.
Bachmann’s cash on hand reflects money received in previous quarters. Bachmann went into the third quarter with over $3 million in cash-on-hand funds.
The financial report also shows Bachmann’s campaign holding more than $500,000 in debt.
A recent CNN Poll of Polls showed 5% of Republican voters naming Bachmann as their preferred candidate.

They all claim the same thing, cut spending, stop the tax and spend democrats, yada, yada, yada. They are all hypocrites and worse than that, liars. The democrats have not been the tax and spend that the GOP has been pushing the lie about. Just another one of the GOP's big lies! All of the GOP candidates stay with the GOP talking points, lies. All of the GOP will be very surprised in 2012 when thay are all voted out of office.

it seems to be a theme here; several of the gop candidates have spent more than their campaigns have raised. how on earth can these people stand in front of us preaching about fiscal responsibility, and asking for our votes?
Isn't this one of the ones yelling about government spending more than they have? On top of that millions were and are being spend on someone with zero chance of being elected.
Bachmann has been living of the tax payers for far too long, and it is about time she went back to do what she was elected to do and show up in MN and earn her paycheck or let someone else take over. The joke is no longer funny about her running for the toughest job in the country, and if she cared about her country she would do the right thing and admit she has no chance of ever getting more then 5% of the vote, let the real candidates try and gain momenteum and stop the sideshows of circus characters like Bachmann

Is this really news? She started the quarter with $3 million in cash on hand. Her poll numbers are slipping. If she doesn't get them back up, her contributions will continue to slide. Of course she is going to use the available cash on hand to try to reverse the dropping numbers. Might not help, but until her account reaches zero, it makes sense for her to do it.
Okay, she raised 4 and spent 6 – I bet she was one heck of a tax attorney.
